Are these 2 young guys with the high upside untouchable, in that we are banking on them being the star players of tomorrow?
Will we trade them ONLY if we're talking about Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, etc. (the very best of the league)?
Or are these guys expendable even for non-generational type All-Stars?

I could also see them moves for a similar prospect if said prospect fitted the roster better.

The fact that Danny held out on the trade for Kyrie when they wanted Tatum and even gave them the BKN pick rather than part with Tatum, tells me that they are about as untradeable as a player can get. They may be in play to get an Anthony Davis or a Kevin Durant but not for anything less than a franchise player. Both guys are good enough that they may become franchise players and I don't see Danny giving them up until he knows one way or another.

I bet Brown is less untouchable than Tatum. Brown is way more athletic, but Tatum has far more developed skills. I could see Brown going as part of a deal for a big man, but I also don't think Danny is looking to move him. So much will depend on how he develops. He's still so young and will get so much better.

One interesting post on a message board that I read (and he said this is only his opinion), said that CLE wanted Tatum, but Ainge held on to him, knowing that Ainge could get Kyrie without giving up Tatum. And if we were to offer NY Tatum and the LAL pick, we may probably get Porzingis.
So, in thinking about our future, not only do we no longer possess BRK or LAL picks, but we also lose Tatum. But we get Kyrie and Porzingis back.
Porzingis (21) and Jaylen (20) are only a year apart, so we'd still have our stars of the future. Kyrie is 25 and Hayward is 27. So we'd still have a young team that can be together and compete for titles for half a decade, or more.
Or would you rather we hold onto Tatum (who might become a star, though it's debatable if he'll be at Porzingis' level) and keep the LAL pick and hope we land another high ceiling talent. Porzingis is an emerging, maybe some might consider him an established, star -- Tatum and the draft pick, we're crossing our fingers on.

No player is untouchable with Danny as the director of operations, however I could only imagine the Jays being available if it was say AD or KD.
