Lucky for us that Brad is a genius and knows how to organize a chaotic mess. Once again, he's inherited a huge roster overhaul, and just when he finally remembered everyone's names, now he has to go back to issuing out name tags.
From last year's team, only 4 players remain: Horford, Smart, Jaylen and Rozier.
Now he has to get a feel for his new players, see what each players' strengths and weaknesses are, see what combination of players work together the best, and get the team to gel. And he only has 4 preseason games before we jump into the regular season.
Poor Brad.

I bet he's never been happier heading into a season. He certainly has never had more talent to work with. I think this season will be Patriot-like, in that they get better each month.

That should be the trajectory. In any event, going forward from this year on, this team will get stronger and stronger as the young guys we've drafted start settling into their roles (and for some of them, into stardom). If Brad has shown anything during his time here, it's how he can figure out the best way to maximize what he has. And the team he has now is arguably the most talented and versatile team he's had in Boston.

we have a very talented team but a young team. We have 3 stars in Kyrie, Hayward and Horford. We have Smart, Brown and Rozier returning from last year, along with Horford. All have talent and Brown, Rozier and Smart are due for a leap this season.
Baynes has championship experience and will give us toughness, rebounding and rim protection that we haven't had since Perk left. Theis was the defensive player of the year in the German league last season and will also give us toughness inside. But he is new to the NBA aand may have a learning curve.
But again, we are a young team. We have Ojeleye, Yabusele, Tatum and Nader who are all rookies. That's going to take some patience on Brad's part and a lot of teaching from the coaches. Hopefully they all have good BBIQ and will catch on quickly. I'm glad that we have Brad coaching and not Doc. Brad is good working with young players. Doc tended to want to ignore them if he could.
Danny mentioned that Kyrie fits our timeline. He's younger than IT and I'm thinking that Danny is looking toward contending for many years to come and not just this season. We have a lot of new players and so it will take time this season to gel and I agree that I see them getting better with each passing month.
I shall be praying for Brad this season as he is going to need the patience of a saint to once again start out with almost all new players after molding that team last season into a contender.
