And you know, this could all be a ploy by Ainge to drive up the asking price for Kyrie, so others teams would have to overbid.

Unless Ainge think Kyrie can blow up to Russell Westbrook type of production, giving Cleveland any sort of asset would be a disservice as they're on the brink of yard sale. I'm sure Cavs want Tatum as the starting asking price but, I doubt Ainge has him or Brown available to be traded. Also, there could be mix emotions in the front-office that no one is aware about. Ainge might bethinking Isaiah isn't worth the MAX money that he's going to be asking this summer. At this point, I just hope we don't give up any asset that we stole from the Nets for the past couple years.

What if we could get Kyrie for Isaiah Thomas, Crowder, and a few future draft picks -- would you do that deal?

It all depends on the picks included.
If CLE wants young players, I hope we try to work a 3 team trade with a team like Orlando that is stuck in a losing cycle. They get IT/Crowder, we get Kyrie, Cleveland gets Rozier, and assorted picks and young'ns from Orlando.

Probably not if any other pick in the top 10 of the first round was included. But if a trade included any of our own picks, which are likely to be in the 25-30 range for several years, then yes, I'd probably do that.

We don't give CLE pieces that will keep them competitive this year, and IT gets to go to a place where he can still be the Man. But doubt CLE signs off on this, cause as long as Lebron is on the team, they're going to gear up to win.

I am thinking Danny is holding 4 cards to the vest. Brown, Tatum, Nets pick, PHI acquired pick. 1 out of 4, say a close to generational pick, BOS is back on top.

Reports coming out now are saying Cleveland is looking at trade offers assuming LeBron is leaving after this season. They are looking for young talent.

We've heard that CLE wants Tatum if we're dealing for Kyrie. I'm sure we'd have to lose a lot more young talent than just Tatum.

I am pretty sure Lebron could sign 1-year gigs for the rest of his career, however I do not see him taking less than a max contract, and only a few teams will have that room which is required.

Anyone find it curious, and possibly telling, that the Cavs are targeting Tatum, and not Jaylen Brown?

I don't want Kyrie. IT really is comparable to him. The knock on IT is his defense, but Kyrie doesn't play great defense either. Their defensive ratings last year were the same. There is a reason that they want our young talent. They are going to be very good. Why let them have a future star plus a current star plus draft picks. It would take all of the above to get Kyrie. It just isn't worth it. He's not THAT much better.

It just isn't worth it. He's not THAT much better. I think for the here and now, IT is a better fit. He is loved by his teammates and fans. He comes up big, especially in the 4th. But in 2 years, he'll be playing as a 30 year old with hips that are already squeaking -- whereas Kyrie will only be 27. Both are explosive scorers, capable of pouring in 40 pts without breaking a sweat. But IT is about to get expensive really soon, while Kyrie will be under our control for 2, possibly 3 more years at a reasonable 20 mil per year -- which is not bad for a star caliber player (Hayward is making 29 mil, Horford 27 mil). I'm comfortable with IT cause I know what he brings and I know he fits in with his teammates, coaches, community, etc. Not sure how things will be affected if we replace IT with Kyrie.
