Gene Conley (Celtics backup in the early Russell era) passed away in early July. Here's a story about him from ESPN: www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/19844347/gene-conley-mlb-nba-champion-dies-86Played for the Red Sox, and won titles with the Milwaukee Braves and Boston Celtics. I probably saw him play as a young child, but I don't really remember him. I found it interesting that he lived in Foxborough, MA. The guy certainly had a knack for being around winners.

A 6'8" pitcher in the 1950s. He mustve looked like a monster on the mound. Think of the stories that man could tell. RIP.
