Anyone know if we have skills coaches on the team? And if they are any good?
In the past, we had some good coaches teaching our players -- like Clifford Ray, who was a big help to Perk. Ron Adams (who is now an assistant coach with the Warriors) helped Bradley improve his shooting.
We have so many young players on the team that it is crucial for us to have really good coaches who can teach and develop their skills. I know we have guys like Jay Larranaga, and Micah Shrewsberry and Waltah McCarty -- but I don't know how good they are at coaching technique and skills.

Perhaps that is one of the duties that the former Red Claws coach will have. I think all of our coaches help with skills. I'd love to have KG back as a big man coach. (or Perk, but he's looking to return to the league and play this season).
With 6 rookies on the team I think you have hit on a big need for the team and hopefully they are going to fill that need with good coaches.

I think BOS has very effective assistant coaches, however not skill per say. AKA - Clifford Ray. The closest skill management is Zarren, whose skill is managing the salary cap/new CBA (collective bargaining agreement).

We could use a big man coach and definitely a shooting coach for Smart.

Lots of momentum lost. This is why a shooting coach... Someone like Ray Allen or some other player who had perfected his shot... could really help the team. Sometimes it's just a little hitch or the way they hold the ball or position their hand that makes that little bit of difference in a shot being spot on or just a little off. Maybe Paul Pierce would want to be a shooting coach for the Celtics.

Too bad Larry Bird never became a shooting coach. His shot was so effortless. Ray Allen, super form. Eddie House, a quick release.

Larry's form was flawless and always perfect. I loved watching him shoot. Ray Allen's form was also right on - every time the same motion.

I'm kind of partial to Bill Cartright's shooting form -- pure finess! A real thing of beauty.
