Credit to you if you figured out who I am talking about in the title (Yabu-Sele and Oje-Leye).
These two are similar type players. Rugged and powerful PF's who are slightly undersized, and who can knock down 3's.
Yabusele has a wider frame and longer reach, while Ojeleye is a better defender.
If we can only keep one on the roster THIS year, who stays in Boston and who goes to Maine?
BTW, now we have 3 such players in Crowder, Yabusele and Ojeleye. These guys would be linebackers and tackles for a football team, and yet they can sweetly shoot deep jumpers.

Too early to say for me. I like what Brad had to say about Semi's D though.
Can we get the Garden crowd to chant (like a hockey crowd)?
Ojeleye, ole, ole
Ojeleye, ole
Ojeleye, ole, ole
Ojeley, ole
Might work for Yabusele too.

Austin Ainge had a video breakdown with Marc D'Amico, and Austin spoke well of Yabusele's defense.
I wouldn't say it's his strength, but defense may be part of Yabusele's intrigue.
He's got more girth that Ojeleye.
Ojeleye might have the better outside shot.
All things being equal (they both defend at the same level, hit three's at the same level), it could come down to who rebounds better.

They are both intriguing. We haven't really seen much of Yabusele since playing in China last season so he may be better than I remember him but he was able to use that big backside to box out pretty good like Sully could except he's just built that way and doesn't seem to have a weight problem like Sully did.
I'm excited to see both of them this season. I'm thinking that they won't make the decision about anyone going to Maine until after training camp to see how Yabu does after he returns from the ankle surgery and possibly how they do head to head.

Competition is going to be tough in camp. James Young and RJ Hunter wouldn't stand a chance if they were trying to make the team this summer.
Jabari Bird and Abdel Nader are better prospects than them, and it's no lock that these two make the team.
It's going to be a clash of the titans between Semi and Yabu.

Thanks for sharing that. We heard Brad talk about Ojeleye's defense; now Larry Brown. I think these two know a little bit about defense, so their assessment carries more weight.
Cannot wait to see what Ojeleye is in 5 years.

Great article! Thanks for sharing it. I love this part I remember Red talking a lot about how important character was in players. I've liked what I saw on the court from Semi too. I believe the roster is now at 15 with the waiving of Jackson and the signing of Ojeleye. Danny has said that he plans to have Yabusele on the team this season so I wonder where that roster spot will come from. Or maybe Yabu will be on a two way contract. Danny has said he's not completely done with moves but I don't want to lose any more core players. Not sure how this is going to work.

I think we're at 15 including Yabusele.
IT, Smart, Rozier (3)
Hayward, Crowder, Brown, Tatum, Morris, Ojeleye, Nader (7)
Horford, Baynes, Zizic, Theis, Yabusele (5)
Am I missing someone?

You are right. We are at 15 including Yabusele. I think you got everyone. I haven't seen Yabusele signed yet but maybe I just missed it.

Twice in the early part of today's game vs the Mavs, Semi was caught in a switch and had to take Dennis Smith Jr one on one. Twice he stayed in front of Smith and did not give him an opening to the bucket (forced him to kick it out both times).
I was impressed, to say the least.
