I'm already convinced Tatum will be a big time player. And not only a star, but a potential top 10 - 15 player.
Here are the reasons why:
- Offensive skillset. So polished; wide arsenal of moves and counter moves. "Skillfully" scores from anywhere on the court. - Basketball skills. Does it all; handles, passes, rebounds, defends. - Feel and IQ. Has tremendous feel for the game, and the BBIQ to make right plays. - Dictates tempo. Never rushed. Plays at his own pace. - Mentality. Doesn't fear the big moment; he seizes it. Rises to the occasion. - Always near the action. Comes up with timely plays; big rebounds, key steals & blocks. Ball seems to find him. - Quick learner. Adjusted from high school to college game quickly, and shone. He learns, adjusts, and excels. - Draws attention. Even opposing commentators can't stop talking about, and praising him. All eyes are locked onto him.
He's got all the goods, and the ingredients needed to be great.
He has yet to play in a real NBA game. But with his total package, he'll learn and adjust to the NBA speed and game. For some guys, they just shine right away; Tatum is one of those guys.

I agree. He looks so good out there. Very poised on offense and his defense is better than I thought it would be also.

I can honestly say I have never been so excited by a player's Summer League performance before. I know it's just Summer League, but the various ways that he scores has me excited - and the timing of his scores as well. Those skills seem to me to be transferable to the NBA, as opposed to someone just scoring because he over-matches his defenders or because he happens to be hot from the outside. Tatum just seems to be able to create shots in so many ways - and HE REBOUNDS!!!

Tatum is very fun to watch. His ISO moves are like Pierce/Melo/Dirk like.

Just heard Chris Mannix on Dan Patrick's show, and he named Tatum first as far as who has stood out in Summer league play.
He also said that he thought the Lakers were going to have a rough year.

I hope he's right about the Lakers. It will be a tremendous fortune for our future if the Lakers convey a top 5 pick to us this year. As for Tatum, the kid just continues to shine -- another sign of his impending stardom.

They asked the players who stood out to them in SL play and most of them said Tatum.
