Our bench is questionable right now. We do have some veterans (Morris, Baynes) but mostly young and unproven guys.
Ainge has to roll up his sleeves and somehow beef up our bench (unless we are banking on Tatum, Yabusele, Ojeleye, Theis, Nader, etc).

Yabusele and Theis are new to the NBA, but both have played pro ball overseas. Theis has played at the top level of the German League and was the defensive player of the year. He's been playing for years.
I think Ojeleye, Tatum and Brown are going to be be able to play and play well. We also have Smart who hopefully will bring the fight and energy that we got from Jae.
I worry most about the identity of the team. I loved the team last year. I loved their heart and their fight and their tough defense. I just hope this team plays with that same edge and doesn't play soft.

Two key reasons why we played with grit the past couple years was because of Crowder and IT (who played with a chip on his shoulder). Horford is many things, but not a guy who plays with a mean streak. Kyrie is also not known for playing with an edge. We need the Marcus's (Smart and Morris) to start barking, and getting others to bark too (maybe if players start changing their name to Marcus......).

If we want to go with an experienced, veteran lineup, we could start:
Smart Kyrie Hayward Morris Horford

Been thinking about this more, and I think we need to have the ball in Kyrie's hands. So he'll be the primary ball handler at the 1.
At the 2, I'm trying to think who would best fit with Kyrie in the backcourt: Smart, Rozier or Jaylen? Smart would give Kyrie defensive help, Rozier gives us another crafty ball handler who can attack, and Jaylen gives us a tall, long, athletic and explosive presence in the backcourt with Kyrie. If I had to pick one right now, I'd say Jaylen.
I'm keeping Hayward at the 3, at least to start the game.
At the 4, I'm going with Marcus Morris -- gives us a physical defender upfront, and a guy who can isolate and also hit three's.
Horford, at the 5 makes sense because with his ability to hit 3's, he'll draw out Centers, and give Kyrie room to drive.
