Or do you guys have a gut feeling that Hayward is reuniting with Coach Brad in Boston?
I can't help but feel that the Indiana roots and the Butler connection is just too strong.

I hope you're right. I don't have a strong sense either way, but I'd like to believe that after coaching him at Butler, Brad would have a good idea of what would appeal to Hayward.

So far, it look good for Boston on getting Gordon. Wait and see what happen in San Diego when GH meet with Utah.

I refuse to talk about stuff like this while it's going on. Like talking to a pitcher during a no hitter. Nothing good can happen. Keep your mouths shut

I have no idea on this. I got my hopes up last year on both Horford and KD. On the one hand, Horford came to Boston last year and I was so excited but then KD went to GS and I was so disappointed.
All I know is that the Celtics are going to be better this year regardless. But I really, really hope he picks the Celtics.

That's the great part of what Danny is doing (though many fans are vocally upset for his "failures" so far this offseason). Regardless, we are going to be better than the 53 win team we were last year. Even if IT takes a dip from his MVP level, we have young guys poised to step up and contribute more.

I often think that a lot of the hype over moves that the Celtics are considering comes from the media and fans more than reality. Danny didn't go hard after George and didn't make a big offer just before he was traded. I believe that he rightfully knows that George is leaving after one year and Danny isn't building a team for one year, he is looking ahead to the future.
I also heard that he didn't make a serious offer for Butler. For whatever reason, he backed off and he more than likely had a lot more information on that situation than any of us as well. I don't think he failed I think he decided against it and probably for good basketball reasons that we may never know.
He always has to think 2 steps ahead and everyone else is thinking in the now.

In both of those potential trades, the one thing clear is Ainge valued the 2018 picks VERY highly. Danny could very well see any one of the top players in next summer's draft as becoming better than Butler, or even Paul George.

If Hayward chooses Miami, I misunderstood Gordon as a person. The only reasons why he would go to the Heat are 1) to be the focal point of the offense, and 2) no state tax, which means for financial reasons. Those reasons lean towards self-centeredness and greed (to put it bluntly).
Choosing either Utah or Boston would show me that he values the team first, over self-glorification, and about a chance to contend.
He can choose team-orientation, and get rewarded financially by staying in Utah.
But if he wants a chance to contend, and still play team-oriented basketball, and get paid well (though not as much as he'd make in Utah), he can sign with us.
Now why would we have a better shot at contending, more than Utah? Because 1) we already have 2 bonafide stars on the team already, and 2) we have a load of young players who have star potential written all over them. Utah doesn't have any of these 2 things -- nor do they have 2 potentially high draft picks in next year's loaded draft!!
We have a blaringly bright future.

All of those things are very true and if he considers them, he should pick the Celtics. He may stay with Utah out of loyalty and because he is comfortable there. He has been getting letters from school children begging him to stay and the fans there have really reached out to him. So, I wouldn't blame him if he stays there. But if he goes to Miami, I agree that he's not the person we thought he was.

Yeah, he strikes me as a sentimental guy. Kids writing to him, and the community outpour hoping and begging for him to stay, could sway his decision.
For that reason, I'm glad he's not having their meeting in Utah.
C'mon, Gordon. It's not a hard decision, really. Just choose us, and get it over with. Those kids will love whoever else becomes a star there. They'll get over you. Plus, my friend tells me the air smells weird in Utah. Sign with us for your (and your family's) health sake.

If Hayward doesn't sign, one positive we can take is Jaylen Brown will get more playing time. More playing time means accelerating his development.

I don't know if it matters, but Kristen Ledlow of NBAtv (Inside the NBA) feels Hayward will choose us too.
