For some reason, Josh Jackson didn't want us to draft him. He made sure we wouldn't see him workout. I'm glad we have Jayson Tatum instead, as I think he's the overall better player, and person.
But did you see how he looked being interviewed after he was drafted? Maybe he didn't want to he drafted by Phoenix either.

Josh said the other day that he talked to Brad Stevens. Ainge rebuffed that, and said in spite of what was written or said, Josh did NOT talk with anyone in the organization.
Ainge stated that matter of factly, and I believe him. I don't know what to think about Jackson.
Look, I know his agent had something to do with it, but at the end of the day, Jackson is the one who has the power to make the calls. BJ Armstrong, his agent, is working for Jackson, and if Josh wanted to work out in front of us, he should have made Armstrong do it.

Ainge also said that he and Stevens flew to Sacramento to work Jackson out and then he cancelled on them. Not good. Glad we went with Tatum.

Yeah I was shocked when I heard that one this morn. That's the point where you don't take him even if maybe he is a little better

Very interesting. Jackson was pretty short sighted to blow off the Celtics. All the other teams in the lottery were bottom teams who didn't make the playoffs and probably won't make the playoffs again this season. He had a chance to be drafted by a team that made it to the ECF and blew them off. I don't really want him. Tatum definitely has the edge in character.

Jackson said he wants to make the teams that didn't pick him regret it.
Well, hopefully the Celtics win a championship soon to make him regret blowing off the Celtics and refusing to workout for them. He didn't give the Celtics a chance to pick him.

At Josh Jackson's introduction, Ryan McDonough chuckled and said Jackson not working out for the Celtics may have been because of them. I wonder if they gave him a guarantee at [HASH]4 and also a promise of playing time and a starring role.

I think someone put it in his head that he'd be competing with Jaylen for playing time, and that maybe his stats would suffer and ultimately cost him money.

You don't workout for us, you blow off your potential employers (including your potential head coach) by calling off a workout they were flying cross country to come to, and you're holding it against us for not picking you? Actually, he didn't want to play for us, and I don't think he wants to play for Phoenix either. I think he wanted to be a Laker, and he's upset they didn't take him.
