This offseason could usher in a revamped Celtics team.
We draft _______ (for now, we'll say Tatum or Jackson)
We sign Hayward and Griffin (but they're kind to us and choose not to get every penny they can)
We bring over Ante Zizic
We bring in Abdel Nader from the D-League
We sign Theis
Now we look like this
IT Bradley Hayward Horford Griffin
Smart Rozier Crowder Jaylen Nader Tatum/Jackson Zizic
We could use more talent in the frontcourt, but overall, 1st and 2nd units look stronger and deeper.

If we draft Tatum/Jackson, add Zizic, and sign Hayward OR Griffin (I don't think we can afford both) I think we're going to need to think hard about packaging Crowder and probably Smart for another big man.

I watched some video on him and he looks like he'd hold his own inside both on the boards and as a shot-blocker.
In general I think we need to be careful not to load the roster with too many B- players. You can only play so many guys and allow Brown and Tatum/Jackson/Whomever develop. If it is Tatum, I think we may see him at PF a lot.
Now that I say it, I can see a lineup with Horford and Tatum drawing shotblockers outside, allowing IT, Brown and Hayward to take it to the hoop.

Seems like he won Defensive Player of the Year in Germany's top league this past season.
I guess we can say goodbye to either Kelly Olynyk or Jonas Jerebko if Theis proves himself. He'll be a lot cheaper than either of them (and a lot more physical).

30 years from now someone will ask, Remember that scrub who had that amazing Game 7 in the playoffs one year and never did anything else? What was his name?

This from Chad Ford today could further complicate things:
"The lowered NBA salary cap projection of $99 million will make it tougher for the Boston Celtics to clear max cap space if the team desires to chase a star like Gordon Hayward or Blake Griffin this summer. Boston already had some trimming to do to meet the previous projection and would likely have to part with a key rotation player in order to clear the necessary room."
May lead to further maneuvers by Danny today.
