Sounds like we may be going after this guy: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2a26nuDQJU6'9", powerfully built, fairly athletic, hard nosed player (the type we seem to target these days), can hit three's. Maybe Jerebko's replacement.

For which pick?
Because he seems woefully unimpressive...

No, I don't think he's coming through the draft route. It's like the way we brought in Vitor Faverani a few years ago. It'll be an international signing.

Oh right a FA. My bad! But yes hustle off the bench isn't a bad idea since he would be cheaper than Jerebko

Never heard of him. He came out for the 2013 draft and went undrafted and has been playing in Germany. I read they are offering him a 2 year contract, not sure of any options.

In one of his highlights, he blocked and bothered Zizic twice on the same play. That tells me he's not afraid to mix it up and get physical, cause that's what Zizic likes to do.

In one of his highlights, he blocked and bothered Zizic twice on the same play. I can't help but wonder if this is a good thing or a bad thing for us. He does look like he could add some interior toughness though.

So Theis has been here and gone and isn't yet signed but Danny hopes to do so...

Could it be that Danny has some stuff cooking (draft, possible trades and roster shuffling), and until things settle down, he's holding off on signing Theis?

Could it be that Danny has some stuff cooking (draft, possible trades and roster shuffling), and until things settle down, he's holding off on signing Theis? That would be my guess. Mike Zarren said this today... So that would seem to point to what you said being right on.

And it seems Danny wants to sign Theis, and that's why he was brought down and spent time with the org. Nothing is set in stone yet, but if things are in order, Theis is going to be a Celtic.
Might be a D-Leaguer until he proves he's ready to contribute. His oncourt demeanor reminds me of Abdel Nadar's.

The Boston Celtics have agreed to a two-year contract with German forward Daniel Theis, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. According to the Boston Globe's Adam Himmelsbach, the first year of Theis' contract will be fully guaranteed. The deal will likely be for the minimum or close to it. The 6-foot-9, 215-pound Theis averaged 9.7 points and 5.2 rebounds overseas last season.

I'm really hoping he's an upgrade over Jerebko, both as a defender and as a 3pt shooter. Jerebko was nice, I actually like him more than Olynyk. But he fell just a tad short of reaching a level of being a consistent contributor. Rooting for Theis to reach that level.
