No, not for a rental. If on the other hand he would sign an extension for 4-5 years ...
The Lakers probably don't want to give up anything for a guy they could get for nothing in the near future.

I was kinda thinking if the team were doing really well and seemed like a threat to the Cavs maybe a half year rental at the deadline for a couple 2nds or something

Absolutely. We're going to have so many first round picks in the next few years that I don't know how any second rounder is gonna stick with us, so in a situation like that, why not?

If I remember correctly IT only cost like a first or something. I don't see why on Earth we'd give anything of value for a guy gone in a few months.

I'm reading that the Cavs are trying to get PG also. I can't see them having the assets to make a deal. But there are going to be quite a few bidders and it will take more than a couple of seconds to get it done.
