Listening to this guy talk, watching his demeanor on the court, and especially how he plays the game, this is a guy I would like on my team.
Straight talker, no non-sense, wants to win, very respectful (calls people sir, says thank you, looks people in the eye when talking.... he was brought up to respect people).
One thing that caught my attention when he was interviewed after his Lakers workout was how he relished the workout, competing with other prospects who wanted to show they're the alpha dog. He said he liked it cause he could tell who were really "dogs". That's KG talk right there!!!
This kid has got intangibles. Remember, he came into the season not 100%. He had a torn ACL and missed his senior season of high school. He worked his tail off, and towards the end of the season, he looked like the player he was supposed to be. Beat Duke and scored 32 pts while on their homecourt.
I don't think Ainge takes him [HASH]1, but maybe in a trade down.

I'd love to see DA work a mega trade where we send IT4 and AB to For both of Sacto's picks and a future 1st. Sacto is not in a place to do a total rebuild because they owe Philly an unprotected 1st from that brutal nik stauskas trade. With the [HASH]5 we'd get one of Jackson/Tatum or Fox and with the [HASH]10 we'd get one of Nkiltina or Smith Jr. The future core we'd have would be incredible, and we'd still have a solid current crew with Fultz (i think he'll contribute right away), Horford, Smart, Crowder and whichever vet we spend our cap space on.

I had something similar to that in mind. Smith will not last till 10. If Ainge wants him, he'll have to take him at 5.

That may be true. But if Frank the Euro Tank is available I'd be fine with that. I think that dude is gonna be a really solid player. Amazing passer, great stroke, great vision. Doesn't have the first step or the mentality of a 1st option on offense, but he's gonna be good.

ESPN is reporting that the C's have scheduled a pre-draft meeting with Smith. Could get interesting.

Well, things haven’t turned out how I expected for DSJ.
Funny how I miss with super talented scorers like him, like Emmanuel Mudiay. I’d like to ask the GM’s and coaches who had him and Mudiay what are the reasons it didn’t work for them.

I was high on him as well. I thought he would've been what Donovan Mitchell seems to have done.
Still only 22. Won't give up on him yet, but being on the Knicks won't help.

Seems in Dallas, things between him and Carlisle didn’t work so well. And when they drafted Doncic, they decided it was going to work having the both of them. Yeah, NY is dysfunctional so hard to say if DSJ will turn the corner there. I would think Brad could utilize his strengths.
