To me the only major free agent options are Gordan Hayward and Blake G. I don't consider Blake an option because he is hurt way way too much.
Gordon plays the same spot as Jaylen. I'm not sure I like the idea of Jaylen being a 6th man.
This happens in the exact same year we really need a big but all the top 4 draft options are guards and SFs, which is exactly what we don't need.
So even if we trade down we to pick up something else we still get it at a spot we don't need. I don't think Ball is a good option for us any more. Josh Jackson can't hit a free throw.
So I wonder what happens if we hang onto our money and wait till next year. I'm not sure we'd have money available.
I wondered if maybe we could offer $15mill to Mason Plumlee and someone like that and just add two quality bigs to keep minutes open for Jaylen and Markelle, but I don't think those bigs would take it and it would probably make more sense to get Gordan and go with two 2nd rounders

We do have Zizic coming over this summer. Don't know if he'll be effective right off the bat, don't even know if he'll playing with us (could be Maine bound).
Plus, next year's draft will have big men to choose from. We'll need to be patient and not force anything.
I want Hayward on this team, and I don't mind using Jaylen at the 2 to accommodate him. I think it'll work. But really, I think in Year 2, Jaylen needs to carve out a niche as a 6th or 7th man -- leap frog Jae Crowder.

I think Jaylen is a better option at the 2. Put Hayward at the 3 and Markelle at the point. Bring IT and Jae and Avery or Rozier off the bench.
From what I have heard, many GM's feel that Zizic would be top ten without question in this year's draft. I think he will be ready to help this season. He not only held his own but flourished in the tough European league under Blatt, who thought he was ready to play in the NBA. We also have Yabusele and Nader who can play. Nader was the Rookie of the year in the D League. Yabusele looked good in China but against lesser competition.

Yabusele also looked good in the D-League playoffs, but can't put too much stock in that. Heck, James Young looked pretty good in the D-League as well. But Yabusle's strength and mobility, also his outside shot, if those things can be honed, he can be a nice player for us.

I'm optimistic in Yab's ability to play in a 2nd unit against 2nd unit guys. He did well in summer league. He did well in Europe. He did well in China. He did well in the NBDL. Not much else I can ask of him. Where I'm concerned is that I think Jordan Mickey did well in Maine and Jimmer and Stephon Marbury do well in China. Nader did well in the NBDL. Yay still has a lot of proving himself to do

I don't see how IT can go to the bench. He was a top ten player in the league. I see Jaylen as the first guy off the bench. Back up both Hayward and Fultz. But I don't think that can happen with Avery around and I'm not even sure it can happen with Smart around for now.
