Would you prefer
Fultz + Crowder + Rozier + Amir
OR
Jimmy Butler
I think a package similar to that is what it'll take to trade for Butler.

They better be giving us Lopez in that deal too.

Keep Fultz, sign Hayward, and then trade Smart and Crowder. Amir is a free agent and based on his minutes I don't expect him back.

Do you think our chances improved because we've made it to the ECF? Has it improved a bit more now that we got the top draft pick (adding more talent to an already good team)? I don't think we're going to lose both Crowder and Smart in one summer. That's too much of a blow to our defensive core and identity.

For me, getting Hayward is more Plan A, than it is something I believe will definitely happen. If we can get him as a free agent it means we add without subtracting. No need to trade the top pick or anything else. But yes, I do believe that reaching the ECF and adding the [HASH]1 pick will make us more attractive. Guys want to win. Some just want the most money, but there are always a couple guys who change teams. I heard Chris Mannix on the radio today and he was saying that the C's will be going after Hayward.
Hey, if it doesn't work, we can still go after someone else. I hear what you're saying about losing both Smart and Crowder, and the same thought occured to me, but I think we have to make room for Brown, Fultz and maybe Rozier to grow. In the end, toughness is nice but talent wins.

Definitely talent wins, but it's talent + defense that's needed to be champions.
I'm just wondering how much of an impact Hayward would have on our ability to challenge the Cavs. Say you replace Crowder with Hayward in the second half of this game (Game 1, where CLE is destroying us by making us look like a JV team). We'll probably hit more shots because Hayward is a better scorer. But does he win more 50/50 hustle plays than Crowder?
I just don't know if Hayward moves the needle much. And we're going to have to spend big bucks on the guy.

Yup, I am not on the Hayward train. Think the guy can play, but he just doesn't fit this roster's needs. And after next year we'd have Hayward/IT4/Horford on max deals taking up 85% of our cap. Does anyone think that core is going to challenge the Cavs or Warriors.
If we can get good value for IT4 I hope we trade him. Build around Fultz.
