This is going to be one of the more difficult thing to decide on. IT is the face of the franchise. He has captured the heart of the fan base. He helps in the recruiting process. He's a major contributor on the offensive end (where would we be without him?). We have no pick and roll game without him.
But he's small and is a liability on defense.
He'll be too expensive to bring off the bench. Trading him will probably set us back a couple of years. I cringe thinking about Smart trying to take more responsibility scoring points. Bradley won't be comfortable, nor productive creating his own shots.
I honestly don't have an opinion right now about what we should do with IT.

I'm not sure of the reason for our significant drop off defensively this year, but we did field one of the best defensive teams in the league last year. And that was with IT.
And it may sound funny, but I think IT has improved defensively this year (though he's still a liability due to his size).

If I were Ainge I'd definitely look at Orlando as a trade partner. Rich DeVos is getting really old, and he wants to watch a decent team. Depending where Orlando's pick fell, I'd look at trading IT for their pick. Would have to be in the 3-5 range to make it work it. Maybe even 3-4.

After getting their chances with Shaq and Penny, and even Dwight Howard, the Magic haven't had magic with the recent drafts. They haven't been able to draft really high where the cream of the crop talents are.
If they fail to get a top 4 pick, maybe they'd be open to trading that pick (say at best the #5), for IT. That should help them to improve their team faster than a #5 pick would.

Really tough decision. I think Danny can wait to see where we'll be picking this year before making any decisions on IT. If we get the [HASH]1, and Danny really loves Fultz - which he reportedly does - then maybe we move on from IT. DA would have to be pretty confident that Fultz could step in right away and run the offense though, because right now we're pretty bad when IT is not on the court.
AB is not a PG. Just isn't. Smart has some PG skills, but he's so limited offensively that he's not the answer either. I still have hope for Rozier, but his handle has to get much better.

On the subject of AB, I wonder if Philly would entertain an AB for Dario trade? Philly has had interest in AB in the past, plus Dario is kind of redundant for them with Ben Simmons playing the same position. Trouble is Dario is locked up for a while, where as AB is a FA after next year. I wonder if AB + LAC 1st + Yabu for Dario would get their attention?

AB would be a perfect fit for the Sixers. He could guard the other team's PG while Simmons operates as the PG on offense - which is their plan. Interesting idea, but would these two teams dare to trade with each other?

Seeing how important defense is, especially defending all these quick PG's and SG's, it's important we hold onto Bradley.

That article was great to see how prepared the C's defense is. Smart, in particular, looked pretty sharp in switching IT out so he didn't end up on Butler.
I'm very unsure about what to do, but I'm glad I don't make any decisions. I would never give IT a max contract, but I can't deny what he's done. It'll be interesting to see how far we go this year. I think that will show Ainge what he needs to make a decision.

Look, without IT, we're not even in the playoffs, let alone up 2 - 0 in the second round. How many times has he put us on his back and carried us to victory?
