It's possible that this will be Kelly Olynyk's final handful of games as a member of the Boston Celtics. If it is, I'd like to see him go out with a bang.
What do you guys think -- should we offer him a new contract and keep him long term? Or do we move on in an attempt to get tougher and become a better rebounding team?

I'd like to keep him around. Offer him a 5 year front loaded deal. I doubt he turns away 5 year deal at 9-10 per. Then sign Zach Randolph to a 2 year/24 million deal (2nd year team option). Grizz have a lot of dudes that need resigning. He'd be a great addition for this team next year. still a monster on the glass and a handful in the paint in limited minutes.

For me, I think we can find big men better than Olynyk, as far as what we want our big men to do. Much too soft for what this team is, and the identity we want to portray. KG reminded the guys they need to play like dogs. I think Kelly heard that and thought KG meant puppy.

Wow, Zach Randolph is an interesting thought. At this stage of his career, as a backup 4 who rebounds and gets buckets would be big for us.

KO is the only big that I want to keep at this point. Get rid of the rest of them who are on the active roster at this point. Unless someone offers him something ridiculous then let him go.

When KO plays aggressively, which is all too seldom, he's a good offensive player. I wouldn't mind seeing him come back, but not at big money. A lot will depend on whether anyone else offers him a deal, and for how much.

Sometimes he's soft, sometimes he's physical. Sometimes he'll quickly take three's. Sometimes he's passive.

I'd feel comfortable offering him a contract around that. It's only about 1/10 of the salary cap. If some team loses their mind and offers him 15 mill a year or something similar, say thanks for all you've done and send him out the door.

Sounds about right to me.
