In both of our recent playoff wins vs Chicago, we had huge 1st quarters in which we scored tons of points, giving us an early cushion and forcing the Bulls to expend energy coming back.
The only tweak Brad made was inserting Gerald Green into the starting lineup; and Gerald has made Brad look like a genius (well, even before this move, Brad was already a genius).
Its not that Gerald is the long term answer, but what this obviously tells us is we need another lethal scorer in the starting unit. Having another big time scorer in the starting 5 will allow us to do a lot of damage early on and cause teams to back peddle right out of the gate.
Danny, you know what you gotta do this summer. Make it happen, sir.

Strangely enough, inserting Gerald also helped the defense and the rebounding. We were only out-rebounded by 3 in Game 4 instead of double digits as we were in the first two games. I think the biggest advantages of having Gerald out there is the spacing. It gives everyone more space to operate and to get their own shots.
Gerald is also rebounding much better than Amir and he is more athletic and the spacing gives us better position for rebounding as well. It helps a lot more than just his scoring.

We're also drawing Lopez away from the paint, which gives us shots at offensive boards.
But nonetheless, our recent scoring boost has been a real help.

I think the scoring improved when that dark cloud lifted from them and they started to focus on playing the game rather than on what they could do for IT and how bad they felt for him. Also Gerald helping to spread the floor gives them more open shots and more paths to the basket.

Not to mention how intense and fired up Gerald is when he's scoring and making stuff happen when he's on the floor. That's got to fire the team up.
And I think when we catch on fire offensively, it excites us to play harder defensively (and vice versa).
