We got smacked in the face by the Bulls, on our home court, on national tv. The players, and even die hard fans were shocked that were down 0 - 2 in the opening series, and now heading to Chicago.
But maybe getting embarrassed like that was what we needed. It was like a wake up call, a kick in the pants, getting doused with ice water, a fire alarm going off in your face.
And then KG delivers his message that essentially brought everyone together on the same page, with the same mindset.
I'm sure losing Rondo played a big part in our wins, but I feel we would've won even if he was playing.
We are finally playing like dogs, as KG said they needed to do.

I think that the two losses were because the team was in shock due to the death of IT's sister. The first game was the day after the accident and IT was in a daze. The rest of the team was shellshocked with how to deal with it. With IT not being IT and the rest of the team not knowing how to help him, they just went through the motions in both games. Before game 3, IT went home and was dealing with the tragedy a bit better and between that and the message from KG that got everyone into the right mindset, they were able to get back to playing the Celtic way.

Yes, I shouldn't have downplayed the emotion factor of IT and the team. It really was a huge obstacle to overcome (and still is, but we're doing better).
We must also consider Gerald being a contributor to our wins. In both games, he's helped to give us huge 1st quarter leads.

I'm so happy for him too. I've always liked Gerald for some reason and followed him even when he wasn't on the Celtics. I always posted my "guilty pleasures" of his incredible dunks wherever he was. I was really happy when he came back to the Celtics. Before the playoffs IT said that Gerald would win us a playoff game and he was right.
