2 part question:
1) Do you want Paul George on this team? 2) Which players and draft picks are you willing to give up to get him here?
If you really want him here, you know it's going to cost us. What is the final asking price you'd sign off on?

I would if he would sign an extension, but if what was reported is true about his preference of only signing with either the Pacers or Fakers, then the second question doesn't matter because then you can't trade for him just to leave after next season.

Agreed. His preference appears to be the Lakers... and I'd rather not take the risk of us trading away the future for a short rental..

So you guys will be ok with going after George if he's willing to stay with us long term?
Lets say he's cool with that -- now the question is how much are you willing to sacrifice to get him (your absolute final offer)?

I would offer ONE of the Nets picks + either Bradley or Smart + either Crawford or Brown

I think we have to hold onto guys with a really high ceiling, like Brown. Crowder is a good player, but not a great one, and unlikely to ever be one. I think Brown is showing enough to want to keep him if at all possible. Super-athletic guys, who are also smart, and also hard-working, don't grow on trees.
Smart is going to give me whiplash. One day I'm ready to trade him after I read an article saying that he is included in the vast majority of the worst 4 player and 3 player combinations for the Celtics this year. Then he hits 5 of 8 3's, is a one man wrecking crew on D, and is generally the best Celtic on the court. I bounce between thinking he is a core player and wanting to send him packing.
If we could get George long term for the '18 Nets pick, Crowder, and their choice of Smart and Bradley, I'd do it in a flash. The Nets have been playing better and the '18 pick may be so-so. The '17 pick, on the other hand, I think we should hold onto.
