Talks about Blake Griffin having interest in joining us has surfaced again. Could we land him this summer?
And Paul George is another guy we went hard after this summer.
How strong will this team be with those two in the starting lineup?
IT Bradley? George Griffin Horford
That's a pretty stud lineup right there!! I mean, maybe Bradley gets traded to IND in the George deal, but we still have Smart or Rozier if Bradley isn't here.

If we got Griffin via free agency it would be impossible to trade for george without moving IT, Horford or Brady. We'd have to gut the roster of pretty much all the mid-level contracts we had to make room for griffin. But I think Blake is a guy worth doing some major roster restoration for. a starting line of
IT Bradley Crowder Griffin Horford
With
Smart, Jaylen and fultz as backups. We'd need to use our cap exception wisely to find some vet to eat up some big man minutes, because we'd have to jettison jerebko, amir and and KO to make room for griffin.

I really don't want Blake Griffin. Reading the comments from Clippers fans, he has lost a lot since his injuries. Not as quick, not as athletic. Also Clippers fans feel that Griffin doesn't play team ball all the time. Several of them were wanting to get rid of him. If the fans that watch him day in and day out feel that way, I don't think he'd be good for the Celtics.

We have to think about chemistry as top priority. This team is winning because they are all focused and are playing beautifully together, defense first. The two guys that I see as perfect fits are Paul George and Anthony Davis. DA has his work cut out for him, but I think he will trade that Nets pick - I know I would. I don't see anyone worth a top pick this year, the top 10 is a crapshoot.

"COULD" is the important word there. There's no WILL in this draft. I love the way Jordan Bell is playing also, but none of these guys are sure things. There are maybe 8 guys who MIGHT be great at the next level, IMO not good enough for a top 2 pick. 3-8, sure, happy to trade down if we get the [HASH]1.

Well the thing about keeping the pick instead of trading it, is that you COULD get a star talent and keep your options open long term. Lets face it, IT will want a major payrise...if DA doesn't bite, and trades IT then having Fultz around to take up the scoring load makes alot of sense. Rather than sacrifice caproom for a guy like Paul George right now, there is every possibility we can keep the pick, let the talent grow and STILL attract a more than decent player through free agency.
