Now that Tony Allen will be activated (most likely on Friday, barring any setbacks with his injury), someone will need to join Gerald Green and Marcus Banks on the inactive list.
Doc says its either Ryan Gomes or Orien Greene.
Who do you guys say will be the one to go? Or do you guys feel a player other than those two will be the one to go on the IL?
If I had to say who I think Doc will put on the IL, it would have to be Ryan Gomes. Rivers still plays Orien in games, but we haven't seen Gomes play in the last 3 games. Plus, Tony is a wing player, so it only makes sense that if we bring in a wing player, we should minus out a wing player.

I don't see why we can't. Addition by subtraction. He is the person hurting the team cause he's the only one not doing his job. So bench him. Simple.

Ooooohhhhh. I know why. Cause Doc doesn't have the guts or brains to do it.

No, he can bench him (and has already done that) without having to place him on the IL. And actually, its not a very good idea to do that. When you place a guy ion IL, its not like he won't be with the team anymore. He'll still be with the team everywhere they go, to every game, albeit dressed up in street clothes, and all that other stuff. Can you imagine the negative vibes that will come from Blount for being on the IL? So not only will he be pouting left and right for being on the IL, but he'll still be with the team everywhere, on the court, in the lockerroom, on the bus, on the plain, etc..
At least when he's active, but collecting DNP-CD, he still thinks he has an opportunity to play, so he wont' pout as much. But placing him on the IL and its definite that he won't play.

They can just put him on the IL for like a week or two as a message like "You're in street clothes. You don't play anyway so we don't even want you to dress." Also I'd just tell the other players for two weeks do not talk to this player or we will put you on the IL list or trade you or suspend you for violating team rules. I wionder if they can do what happened to TO. Also why isn't GG in the NBDL instead of just sitting there?

Ainge and Rivers have been on the fence on what to do with Gerald Green. I think Ainge had a comment 2 weeks ago that said he felt like it was to Gerald's advantage to remain with the parent team because he's showing a lot of growth playing against Ricky and Pierce in practice. Plus, while with the parent team, they can directly overlook his strength and conditioning program.

My only arguement against that is that they haven't seen yet what the NBDL can do for him although I admit the logic that the NBDL has nothing even bordering on PP and RD makes sense. The NBDL might help his confidence or expose him in a different way though. I'd still send him for 3 weeks and see what happens.

I want TA to stay inactive until he comes back from Chicago after his legal meeting Tuesday. No need to rush him into the line up.

It said that in yesterday's practice everyone went at Tony and they were all scoring on him and laughing. Well that says that maybe he isn't game ready yet. No need to hurry him back.
I would love to see Veal to be put on the IL... He really doesn't add much to the team out there. But I imagine Doc will put Gomes there since he seems to be the odd man out lately and not playing.

I hope Doc isn't dumb enough to send our best rooks to the inactive list. In my world, I send either Blount or Scala to the IL, but that ain't happenin.

So TA could stay there for a couple more weeks...

Yeah, I was expecting him to come back today. Didn't happen. I didn't check the papers to find out why. Anyone know the reason why they postponed his return? Is it like you said, Flceltsfan? Maybe he's too rusty to come back right now.

Maybe he's too rusty to come back right now. Sounds reasonable for having a knee worked on and no pre-season. Send him to the NBDL for 2-3 weeks first...
