Can Marcus Smart be a starting PG on a contending team? His defense is a plus plus, and he's progressing as a playmaker, but his offense is below average.
If he is able to, then Markelle Fultz makes lots of sense.
3 - 4 years from now, if all shakes out nicely and guys develop the way they're capable of, this is a good backcourt and wing combination:
PG - Smart SG - Fultz SF- Jaylen
Isaiah off the bench provides instant scoring.

Eja is in favor of drafting Ball (which I don't oppose either -- he's a heck of a Point). If we get Ball, here's maybe what we can do:
PG- Ball SG- Isaiah SF- Jaylen

I'd need to hear Ball say he wants to be here. If Fultz is in love with Boston and Ball hates it I'd take Fultz

Putting that aside (for now), which trio would have a greater impact:
IT Fultz Jaylen
Ball IT Jaylen
With Fultz, we potentially get another scoring threat (would most likely be the best, or second best scorer on the team).
With Ball, he will be the primary facilitator and IT will have to shift to off-guard. We know IT is having an MVP type season as a PG, mainly because he's really good at the pick and roll. Take the ball out of his hands, and we'll have to see how effective, or limited he will be.

If we this Ball is more like J Kidd and Fultz is more of a scorer....like say Brandon Roy...then I got Ball. I'd need to get a better understanding of their defense. I don't see IT as a passer....he's more score first to me....and I think Ball is the better rebounder. I think it's known Ball makes his teammates better but Fultz' team is terrible

I'm still on the fence between these 2. Fultz averaged 22 ppg as a freshmen -- if he stayed at Washington for 2 more years and improved every year, he could possibly average 27 ppg ,which makes him an elite scorer. He'd help us out greatly in this department (which is why we were going hard after Butler).
But when I think about Ball, he may have some question marks, but bottom line is this guy is a winner. He wins wherever he goes. This UCLA team would be really different if he had not gone there.
Thinking about what affect he could have on our beloved Celtics team makes me consider him over Fultz.

I am really starting to watch profiles right now. Tatum caught my eye. Imagine a fast break w/ Brown on the left, and Tatum on right.

Tatum is high on my list too. He'll go pretty high.

Hearing the Balls I have definitely backed off the Ball thing

Yeah, he really wants to be a Laker. Then again, Pierce was a Laker fan and hated Boston too.
I bet if the Lakers own the first pick, Magic is going to draft Lonzo.

Man why did PHX make that awful trade where they gave up the Lakers 2017 pick for that one random PG that just rots on their bench? I want the lakers to lose that pick, but the last thing that i want is for philly to have 2 top 7 picks.

Can Jaylen Brown and Josh Jackson be enough of a perimeter threat to make that duo work?
You're gonna get great athleticism, strong defense, slashing, and nightly highlight plays. But if defenses don't respect their outside shooting, that's not good.

Can Jaylen play a bulk of minutes at the 2?
I'm wondering, if we draft Tatum, who eventually plays the 3?
