Somewhat obscured behind the glitter of recent successes is the AMAZING coaching job we are seeing from Brad Stevens. Once again he is getting the absolute best out of his players in ways that seem absurd to novices like myself. 52 threes? Jonas as a starter? The 2nd leading scorer in the league? He has everyone stepping up. I am in awe, he is in Belichik territory.

I think I'd put the reins on that comparison until he actually wins something. So far he's been successful at getting guys to "overachieve" both at Butler and with the Celtics. However, as much as I think of him, he's yet to get a team over the hump. I like BS, am very happy he's our coach, but we can't really compare him to an all-time great until he's won not just one, but several titles.

True dat. But in terms of a single half-season we are seeing one of the greatest coaching jobs I can remember. Every time I say "that's not going to work"...it works! The chemistry and culture he is building are worthy of this great franchise, he has every player improving their games month by month, and his game-management is already Belichikian. He has me watching every coaching move as closely as I watch Marcus Smart's hands.
Barring bad luck the rings will come, all the indicators are good, but this year is about the journey. Up to now it has been thrilling to watch. I still hate all the 3's but I can see it working for us in this time and place. Celtic's games are once again the best reality-tv show on television. Yea!

Stevens is probably the best younger coach in the NBA. The sum of the parts equal more than the individual parts. That said, I would like Coach Stevens to work on in-game adjustments. Example - Ben McLemore burned BOS last night; guy shoots 33% from the FG.

We were missing 2 of our top 3 perimeter defenders - we had to give up something. This stretch without AB has been great for Jaylen. This will be a big benefit down the road.
