Just read that Wojo said that the Knicks have contacted the Celtics about trying to gauge interest in trading for Carmelo Anthony.
To begin with, Melo has a no trade clause and he hates the Celtics so I don't see him waiving it to go there. But even if he would I hope Danny says no thanks. He can still score but his defense is very bad these days and his rebounding isn't anywhere what it used to be. He just isn't as good as he once was and isn't the best team player either. I say NO NO NO!!!

No interest whatsoever. Hasn't been a winner for a long time.

No, because the defense has been average/below average this year. Opposing teams target Thomas, the weak link on defense. With Anthony, now that would be two weak links. Also, Anthony is 32. How many productive seasons does he have left?

I read on ESPN.com that Danny said that he isn't interested. Hopefully that isn't just posturing and is the truth.

BOS when it plays it's best, ball movement. Didn't PJ already knock Carmelo on that?

I cant see any value in giving up anyone in our starting 5 for that bum..ok maybe Amir Johnson if they want him lol.

It seems like he is likely heading to the Clippers, but the Clippers ore on a "hard" cap this year and will need to get rid of more players than what they are sending NY for draft picks or low level guys who can be cut because of Anthony's 10M trade kicker. This is where I have read on ESPN.com that Danny has been involved as it was said that his target(s) would be Crawford or Riddick. I think LA would be dumb to give up either of those guys for nothing, but if Danny can do it, then I am all for it.

Crawford is the definition of instant offense. Obviously, this always depends on what we have to give up and rebounding/defense wouldn't be addressed although further moves could help in that department.
Carmelo to the Clips will be interesting as well - especially if they get him for a bargain. I think Carmelo (like any player that isn't selfless) gets a bad rap. I wouldn't be surprised if being on a true contender and not potentially being the [HASH]1 guy will suddenly increase his defensive effort. Especially with a coach like Doc and Pierce on the bench.

Thank goodness that I'm seeing that the Celtics have said no thanks to Melo. He just wouldn't fit with this team. I am seeing however that the Celtics may be a 3rd team to facilitate his trade to the Clippers.

I like the idea of the Cs being a third team..we're 2nd in the East and I really think we could compete for the top seed in the East...just needing that one more extra piece. I'm not suggesting a trade away of a starting 5 player but maybe a bench player big man who can come in and help a little. We're definitely lacking that big man off the bench from some energy rebounds in quick bursts.

2nd in the East and we have a top 3 pick in the draft with a good chance at it being the top pick. And, we have what should be a top 5 pick next season also even if we win the East. Danny has this team in a very good position. Those draft picks are very valuable plus I really like the team we have. Like you said, we just need another big. I think Zizic may be that big next season. Danny is going to be careful I think unless he can hit a home run with Cousins or DeAndre Jordan or a top center he's not going to go for a stop gap measure that will tie the cap up in case a max free agent is available next off season that he can bring in.
