If Danny does not trade for IT, is BOS...just like every lottery team (LAL, MIN, PHO, PHI), which is losing games, and accumulating talent?

I think so. We'd certainly win a lot fewer games, and IMO struggle to be above .500
I also think that Philly and Minn are both going to be really good in the not too distant future. Each has a quality, young big man and at least one other future all-star already on their roster.
I think the Lakers are going to be stuck in mediocrity, maybe a little better, but that's the worst place to be in the NBA.

I agree about Philly and Minnesota. They are going to be very good and Philly is already showing signs of moving up. When they get Simmons back, they are going to take a big step I think. The Wolves have the pieces but just need to season a bit.
Philly also owns the Lakers pick (top 3 protected) this season so if they are bad but not really bad they don't even get their own pick. Plus, Philly will have their own lotto pick because I think they may be good enough to move up this season they have tanked for so long, they may just find a few more injuries to help them to stay down at the bottom. 2 more lottery picks or possibly a star that they trade those lotto picks for would push them way up the ladder.
The Celtics needed a star and they got it in IT. They also have several borderline stars that would be enough to make them contenders if they could just get a dominant big man and another reliable scorer. That's all I think they need. Could that be Zizic? I'm hoping because it doesn't look like any other dominant bigs are changing teams. Maybe Kelly will end up being that scorer. He sure looked like it against the Hawks.

I think all the lottery teams have a glaring weakness beyond accumulating young talent, like bad fit coaches (ex: Thibs with MIN), or bad fit GMs (ex: McD with PHX). Recent drafts have indicated their is not a transcendent player available, and it will take many years of losing.

That's an interesting idea. My guess is we would've kept a guy like Jameer Nelson, and we would've seen Marcus Smart got a lot more run at being the starting PG.
