Are we still gonna wait until the C's play 20 games before we all "jump ship"? I think that most persons expressed that time evaluation earlier in the season. I believe that 20 games would be a good gauge ! Doc should : 1. Have a defensive scheme that works 2. Have an established rotation of players 3. KNOW who can play specific rolls i.e. instant offense, defensive stopper etc. 4. START a few WINNING streaks ! Let's see what happens a quarter of the way through the season !

Nope, not 20. The clock has been reset with the addition of Perk in the starting rotation. It'll take some time for him to get into his groove. And then the clock will get reset again when Tony Allen comes back.

after 20 games we'll be out west in the middle of a losing streak(s). at least that what i expect so i don't have to disappoint . the only thing that bothers me is that we lose with blonut and raef out there instead of al and perk

I understand when we reset for injury, but why for changing starters when we have the whole training camp and preseason to figure that out? I mean what is training camp for? Standing around and looking cool?

I think it will take a minimum of 1/2 a season to solve our problems. By then, the season will effectively by over, the trade rumors start flying and then the coach will be fired. That is what happens when poor talent and poor coaching combine to disappoint the quixotically hopeful the Celtics fans, yet again.

Well, considering the dynamic of the starting 5 now changes with Perkins in there, it makes a difference in terms of chemistry. The other starters will not have to get used to playing with a new starting Center.

i hope that doc doesn't reinsert blonut in a couple of games to the starting 5. perkins needs confidence...

I think Perkins' job in the starting 5 is now for him to lose. Doc mentions that he is liking (and so are we) the new look of the starting unit with Perk in and Blount out. Perk is safe as long as he keeps improving.
Next step is for Jefferson to replace Raef. Doc always has the luxury of yanking Big Al quickly off the floor if he's screwing up in there and bringing Raef in. But the added offense in the paint and energy we'll get from Big Al is very much worth the experiment. We need to get off to quicker starts and to me, Big Al can be the one to do that.
