Just thought I'd post which each did in their second year in Boston.
Doc coached the C's to a 45 - 37 record Brad went 40 - 42
Doc's roster Pierce Ricky Davis LaFrentz Blount Gugliotta Gary Payton Tony Allen Delonte West Big Perk Big Al Jiri Welsch
Brad's (I'll list only those who we ended the season with) Smart Sullinger Olynyk Bradley Bass Zeller Thomas Turner Crowder Pressey Jerebko Datome
Keep in mind Doc had many years of experience in the NBA as a player, and as a head coach (Coach of the Year with Orlando). Brad coached a mid major college team, and never played in the NBA.

I miss Perk.... It's so hard to see him wasting away on Cleveland's bench. Brad is a better coach but Doc seems to be better at managing egos of veteran stars. That's my opinion anyway.

To be fair, Brad hasn't gotten a chance to show how he can manage egos (meaning egos of high profile players) the way Doc has had. Brad had Rajon for a season and a half, but as we are seeing, Rajon is a difficult player to manage.

What a mess there in Dallas. Rondo clearly wasn't trying in Game 2. He got an 8 second violation for goodness sake~ And then he got benched after just 10 minutes and now he is out indefinitely with a "back injury" He won't resign in Dallas and word is he's probably going to LA but I can't help but think he's cost himself a chance at a max contract. Mark Cuban would probably love to have that trade back - 2 draft picks, Jae Crowder (who I really want back on the Celtics), Jameer Nelson, and Brandon Wright for Dwight Powell and Rondo (who wrecked his team).

Doc inherited O'Brien's 3-ball players, while Stevens has had to juggle Danny's countless trades. Not much of a comparison, and not conclusive of either's coaching ability.
