This could make things more interesting. Danny seems like he is open to pretty much anything. If we could flip our pick and young playres for Love and Green for Monroe somehow to pair th ese guys with Rondo and get a SF in here. We have a lot of assets so anything is possible. I tend to think the Celtics are more loyal and building from within, but if Ainge can create a superteam of sorts I'm sure he would consider it. The question to me is Monroe isn't a true shotblocker. I wasn't a huge fan of the Monroe trade in and of itself, but if it would work as something like that with a player like Love. DA has a lot of options. I have also been keeping an eye on the the top 25-50 players in the league and there are only so many players who would actually make a difference here.
Rondo ?? ?? Love Monroe
is somewhat interesting if we decide to trade everyone sans rondo. Not a big fan of aimless deals but if its something good Ainge is all ears i'm sure. Building a superteam is also tough because you have to fit all these guys under salary constraints. We add a player like Melo to this it gets a bit ridiculous.
Just thinking of super teams with players around the league. Might not be as far fetched as it seems.

Minnesota currently has kevin love, Rubio and Pekovic. I tend to think this would be a bit better than that but the same structure. Add a player like Melo to that and it could get interesting. I don't know if Love is a good plan or not. He is somewhat of a difficult player to build a championship around and it would take something like this.
Rondo, Melo, Love, Monroe. That's a lot of money. Asik is probably the more realistic of the two over Monroe in that instance. Same with Jeff Green. Just taking it all in and pushing the envelope a bit. In KG's words anything Is possible!!!! or not. There have to be deals out there to make like DA has said and they have to be good deals. If Rondo, Melo and Love is the best we can do that's hedging the line a bit imo. Might be better off just building through the draft.

Love + Monroe is a great rebounding pair but they're both weak paint defenders. Hardly guys who'll stop the likes of Lebron driving into the post. Love + Asik is a better pair I think.

Yeah not having at least one guy that is a decent weakside help defender is scary, especially since we'd probably be spending at least 35-40% of our salary cap just on those two players. Like jrmzt said, asik would probably be a better fit in this case, and would also come cheaper.

we are going to need a rim protector regardless where if we can't get one in the draft Asik is still a likely trade scenario imo. not sure who else is around the league either. There aren't many superstars and there just aren't many big men. Not sure ainge can fill both needs in the draft so Asik may be coming here regardless.
i'm just not sure asik is a huge upgrade over faverani. giving up bass for him is one thing. not sure how much better asik makes us over bass either but he'd give us a guy who can contest some shots at least.
