I think the goal is to be back once rondo is approaching his 30's. So we can have our run. I think our core will be in tact after this draft more than likely and we will just have to develop and make those necessarily finishing moves next offseason. I think we will be contenders a year from now. mght take these guys a bit to develop is all. I think tommy is basically saying the same thing as ryan. These guys are going to grow up. We are missing some pieces and that guy and center and some missing pieces as far as who are roleplayers are going to be. But these guys are going to grow up. Tommy just isn't as down on some of these guys as Ryan is. I think tommy knows there are moves that are going to need to be made but the jist of what we are doing is that.
I think next year even we will be much better than this season but it's still going to take a bit. 2015/2016 we will be ready to make a run again imo. May take longer depending on development and who we are able to get draft wise, but I think we will be back by then.
tommy to me isn't afraid to say how good these young players can be is all. ryan kind of plays that we suck card and these guys aren't that good a bit too much to me where tommy sees our team and sees what they can be.
ryan is saying we suck and it's going to take a while and is more focused on that. tommy is saying we are going to be great. that's the difference. tommy=cup half full. ryan=cup half empty. optimist vs pessimist. both know its coming though.

both tommy and ryan seem grumpy these days so I don't know what is worse to be the most optimistic person in the world or the most pessimistic lol. but they are like polar opposites but say the same things in ways. both got old and grumpy ultimately. Tommy is more grumpy and dislikes people. Ryan is more cranky like RR said.
I think ryans article was good though and more optimistic and just telling fans to be patient. bob's baby steps thing to me though is like go out on a limb bob for once. it's ok to know this team is going to be awesome.

If we lose tonight, and the Jazz win, we'll have identical records. Our head to head matchup with the Jazz is 1 - 1. So how does the tie breaker work?

I don't think there is a tie breaker for lottery purposes. You basically get an average of the ping pong balls from the 4th and 5th spot. So tying for 4th would be more beneficial than being in 5th, but not better than if we actually finished in 4th. Or at least that's what I read when I looked it up a couple weeks back.

Utah won so we are in the four and a half spot.

Averaging that out between 4 and 5 we have a 33 percent chance at a top 3 pick and a 10 percent chance at the #1. So exactly 1 in 3 and 1 in 10 if that tracker is accurate.
I just simmed it a few times. The 1st time we got the #1 pick again. Seems like we can still finish as low as 7 though. Got top 3 a few times. But also finished 7th.
If the first time is accurate we are 2 for 2 with getting the 1st pick. Hopefully the real thing is the same.

I think we both get the same amount of ping pong balls, however amount the 4th slot would get.

i think we split them so it's like being 4 and a half for both of us. there are only so many ping pong balls so that wouldn't work. it would mess up the percentages for everyone else.

That's the way I think Ainge will go this time around. Not the 3 year window variety, but getting young players to build around and chase rings for 5 - 6 years.

I do not think Danny has much of choice about windows, unless he plans on parlaying the team's accumulated assets into a star player. Frankly, I do not think one start player would be enough versus MIA, or OKC.
