www.tankathon.com/I'm assuming we are pretty locked there? Can we move up to 4th? Just was simming the lottery and we got the #1 pick. I wish i knew what pick we were going to get. Can't wait. Tommy just said KO has more skills than Dirk coming into the league. Says with Sullinger, KO, Rondo, Bradley and Green we have something here where these guys are going to grow up. I agree with him. We may move on from Green but I hope we just draft. Seems like we are in good position. Jeff is using his quickness these past few games. He's starting to play better. Pressey has really stepped up. I like what I see and I hope ainge does too.

if you sim that thing we end up around the #5 pick more times than not so that seems likely. Every so often we hit that top 3 or #1 pick though. 30 percent chance so 1 in 3 of hitting top 3 and 8 percent chance of the #1 pick so 1 in 10 tries or so. the odds aren't that bad.
Usually it's 5. Sometimes we hit the 6th pick though. hit the 7th pick once.

Yea, the wait for the draft will be killer. Utah/LA play tonight so if Utah win we'd be tied in 4th. It'd help our odds.

Was just reading this article about how it's gonna take a while www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/04/12/celtics-won-bounce-back-quickly/KP2HHJVfLxHSPGWMJq1DCN/story.htmlPatience is the key here I guess but it's like waiting for Christmas but even worse in ways. Not a huge fan of Ryan as he seems to just expound what the general consensus is but interesting how he names players on our current team in the same order as Tommy did. Difference is Ryan is already done with Bradley and Green. I just don't see overly who we move these guys for or how it helps us. But interesting article at least at who the c's might be looking at come draft time. I still think things could go a lot of ways but seems to me like we are going to take a rim protector or one of the scorers with our first pick. Gordon is kind of that sleeper pick and odd duck.

I think Sully has some pretty huge moments for us early in the year. And KO has really shown what he can do late. Both are going to be good imo to go with Rondo. I'm willing to be patient with this team. Don't underrate KO though. I think Tommy might sound like he's crazy but the dude is pretty damn good.

Bob Ryan often comes across as a cranky old man, however usually he is spot on.

I think he pretty much summed up what the general consensus is with that article really well. But he does cater to fans and goes with popular opinion. But i think that article gave a good view in ways of where we are at.

I think the truth is somehwere between ryan's pessimism and lack of vision and heinsohn's blind optimism. I think Rondo, KO and Sully are our core. Bradley and Green are good 4 and 5 guys. We need rim protection and defense. Green's inconsistency may lead us to move him. Bradley's injuries and contract situation may as well. But like i said i dont see what we can get where this is overly necessary. I think they fit pretty well and can improve and become more consistant. We could use that #1 guy over a player like Green but we will see. Green as a fill in and potential 6th man isn't so bad either. Our contract situation isnt that where we have to move these guys.
I think Rondo and KO are allstars potentially. Sully is a borderline allstar potentially. I might have that backwards where Sully is the allstar and KO is the borderline one but either way. We could use that #1 guy and then fill out the roster with a shooter to go with bradley and rim protectors and defensive roleplayers but we will see.
Tommy himself puts Sully at the top of the list. The point is though this draft is huge. We get what we need this draft our team is set. Depending on something unforeseen happening with rondo, we just need to develop. Maybe add that roleplayer or whatever. But we are pretty much set. This will be a defining draft. I think we are going to get p arker or wiggins personally and draft a center later but who knows. We may do the opposite and get embiid and draft a shooter later. I think we can fill our major needs this draft though.

danny tells it like it is but is difficult to get a read on. not a flat out liar. We weren't tanking. we played hard all year. he downplayed this draft. the draft isn't the end all be all and our whole team and going to turn this team around overnight but we can get a huge piece to the puzzle here. he's saying we need rim protection. we do. he's going to take parker. he's saying he loves jeff. he does. I don't think he's going to trade him right away. Maybe we will draft embiid though.
he said he didn't envision Ko as a star. I think Ko is going to be a star but might be more that 3rd or 4th guy. He's still going to put up big numbers. how ainge means things ultimately is the thing. I think he just didn't want to put undo pressure on a rookie.
It's a huge draft though. I think we need embiid as much as anyone. It really can go either way on wiggins or parker or embiid. I feel like we are going to get one of these guys though or end up with Gordon. He's going to fill these needs he's talking about regardless because it is what we need.

Glad to see an article from Ryan. Dude has been following the C's for 30+ years. It's nice to still hear his opinion on the state of the franchise. "It is now a given that this is a pivotal summer for him. If he wants to be great, if he wants to get really rich, and if he wants to be a champion, he will get a trainer and work on that body"I've been saying this for a while, but this is Sully's chance to have a Kevin Love summer. Love came back after his 2nd season and looked like a different man. Baby fat was gone. Dude is now cut. Will Sully do the same. Let's hope so.

I think we will need at least one more high lottery prospect to pan out, and probably score a quality vet through either trade or free agency. IMO we are at least a few years away from making the conference finals, let alone winning a championship.

If Sully continues to play Center he better not transform his body he'll get pushed around. I would like to see the Celtics get a Center so Sully can work on his game at PF. Embiid and Sully would looked good together.

This team is not going to go from worst to first in the matter of a season unless we make a blockbuster trade and get a Love type. The Celtics are years away from winning a title.

And I don't think taking a long time is a bad thing either. I'd rather do it right than do a couple of panic trades and we end up with a veteran team with no cap space that has a ceiling of 50 wins and a 2nd round playoff exit.

I'm with you Fresh I want a team like OKC. If the Celtics traded for a guy like Love you would probably be giving up Sully plus some really good picks including your top one this season. Does adding Love make the Celtics a championship team? No way! I think Minnesota has a better supporting cast if not the same. Getting Love would basically make us the TWolves of the East.
