have to hang on here. Orlando is making a run at us. This is a really physical game right now.
We need to get KG and pierce involved. Get them going to the basket.
Orlando is a heavyweight team. We need to knock them out.

I thought that ball went off Howard. That was a great replay though. Nice swipe by Rondo and the reactions were great.
They weren't even looking at howard though. they were looking at nelson. I thought rondo swiped it it went off kg and careened off howard.

Orlando is no joke. This win was huge. Had orlando come back they'd have momentum big time. Instead hopefully we will wear them down as the series goes and they will crack. This game was so important and set the tone for the series.
Nice to have one of the best free throw shooters of all time in that situation.

Happy birthday eddie! And yes, this is a great win. We've stolen home court. I'm thinking we take this series in 6.

A very close game. I doubt we can expect the Magic to shoot 3s badly all series and for Dwight to play badly all series so each game that we have a lead in, counts. Good to have a good lead to hang on to. Some silly turnovers by Perkins and some bad offensive fouls that were so obvious that it made it so easy for the refs to call it. Offensive fouls that you wouldn't even get at home. Rondo largely forced to being a creator this series just because of Dwight inside. KG with a sub par game but then Pierce and Ray stepped up. Once all 3 get into sync, Rondo will have so many weapons to go to. Rasheed played well defensively and thats all you can ever ask for when hes your backup big man on Dwight. One more thing, we have to control the glass better even though they have Dwight, we can't afford to give up 4 offensive boards to Jameer and 3 to Vince. They outrebounded us by double on the offensive boards and we cant expect to play all our games with such a stat.

Great win (crappy 4th notwithstanding). If we can win game 2, we may be able to sweep them. We are built to beat this team and as long as we don't have too many droughts like we did in the 4th tonight, we will win this series.

I thought we started playing the clock in the last 8 minutes and lost our aggressiveness. If we keep attacking we'll win this thing.

We need to stop making silly turnovers...especially Perkins. You're right. Perkins had a bad game offensively... however, he made up for it by making Dwight work.... and it paid off!!!

And yeah his defense on Dwight was good. Always pushing Dwight off the block and away from the basket.

Really big win -- I saw a stat on TV that Orlando is 1-10 when losing game 1. Still, the fourth quarter reminded me of that all-to-familiar blown leads this season. We need to go for the jugular and not play the clock. As JMost pointed out, we have a tendency to do that. If we keep attacking, we will be in the Finals.
It's true Orlando didn't shoot well, but then again KG was only 4-14 and Rondo was quiet (not to mention the Perkins turnovers -- he and Rondo had 5 each).
BTW, hats off to KG for having 11 boards and 5 assists on a night where his shot wasn't dropping. That's the difference between he and Lewis.

One more thing, and an interesting note that Jon Barry made in the post game, is that Orlando lacks guys who make assists. Their guys can shoot, score, or rebound, but they have very few playmakers. looking at the team totals, we had 21 assists, while they only had 10.

that's a good point. we have a bunch of guys who can all handle and move the ball. Orlando might get into too much isolation which means bye bye to them. They played tough though. We milked the clock but the game got pretty physical late. I just think the pressure is on Orlando now. They can feel good about the comeback but if they lose game 2 this is all but over. We just have to keep our focus. I have a feeling we are going to take game 2 as well. Unless Orlando finds a way to get howard loose and foul perkins out of the game, which doesn't appear to be happening.
But yeah the celtics greatest asset is we have a bunch of guys who are very versatile and can score in different ways as well.
KG is probably the best passing big man in the nba. Pierce and Ray aren't too shabby at their respective positions either. Perk is a good passer as well. You put that with Rondo who can move it as well as anyone and you've got something.

I just don't see Rondo being a factor in this playoffs other than a creator or him making long jumpers. Seeing Dwights rejections of his lay ups, Rondo's inside penetration will have to come against Gortat if any. I see this being a series that is going to center around Ray, Pierce and KG..so yeah unless Rondo gets seriously hot from the mid range area, it won't be easy to get the tear drops and lay ups he did in the Cavs series.
