CF-Not a very "big" or "popular" band, but my favorite band of the moment is Zebrahead.
No one really sounds like them.
I've saw them in concert maybe 5 or 6 times and they put on a great live show. None of the "new" bands out there can touch them for theri musicianhship.
Let's put it this way, my wifes' favorite singer is.......Celine Dion, and she just LOVES Zebrahead.
THe closest bands that sound like them are...I don't know maybe Offspring slash Green Day slash Goldfinger slash Good Charlotee. They have alittle mix of everything. I HATE rap, just hate it, but they have a guy that raps with them. It actually blends with the music rather well.
oFf topic I saw Tesla and Scorpions two weeks ago, and the Scorps still rock.
I am a product of "hair metal" in the 80's. ANd I LOVE IT.
Can't get enough of Ratt, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, AC/DC, Van Halen, Boston, and Heart. (I was in love with Nancy Wilson of Heart growing up)
Of todays groups, I like Good Charlotte, Evanessence and Zebrahead.
One of my favorite bands of all time was and still is Berlin. If any of you saw the Bands Reunited on VH-1 episode they were on, I was at that show. And Terri Nunn is just blood beautiful. Man, she is in her 40's and is still drop dead gorgeous. I liked Vixen too. Man. it takes a BIG man to admit they liked Vixen :-)

Who wasn't in love with Nancy Wilson? She is drop dead gorgeous, even today.
Other notably beautiful rockers were Joan Jett and Suzanna Hoffs.
I was a big 80's music fan too. My top three hair bands are Poison, Bon Jovi, and Skid Row. Def Leppard too, but they were too popular so I didn't root for them.

How could I forget Suzanna Hoffs!!
Bangles were good too.
I saw VAn Halen about 6 months ago.....Boy, Eddie is looking OLD....but still sounding great.
Def Leppard are GREAT in concert. I still have my Union Jack shirt :-)
Iron Maiden is a show not to miss, I am always amazed at the hotties that show up to a Maiden show.
Steve Harris along with Geddy Lee are the two ABSOLUTE best rock base players alive.
You get your price of admission when you see a Neal Peart drum solo. That guy is on another planet when it comes to drum solos.
At the Scorps show, Tommy Lee came out during the Scorps drum solo, and they played a pretty unique drum "solo". Bith of them were on the same drum kit just banging away. It was very good

I can't remember his name, but the bassist for Mr. Big is a real good one too. My friend lent me a video of him giving an example of his playing, and this guy just made the bass sound like a guitar. He was impressed with Yngwie Malmsteen's fret work and speedy left hand picking, so he started using all 5 fingers on the bass strings--I'm sure you know, but most bassist only use their thumb-pointer-middle fingers to pluck the strings.
Can't forget Cliff Burton also.

Billy SHeehan was th bassist for Mr Big. He is good, he was also the base player for David Lee Roth along with Steve Vai on guitar.
Billy Sheehans' claim to fame is...he was the long time boyfriend for the now deceased porn star Savannah. See the junk trivia I can come up with, pretty sick shyte.
I have about 800-900 CD's, and most of them are heavy metal form the 80's. Along with the scattered wifes' whitney houston and Celine Dion :-(
Yngwe Malmstein has to be in the top 10 if not 5 guitarists of this era.

Yngwie is definitely a highly skilled guitarist. Even after his accident, he is still a force. I can listen to his stuff on occassion, but after awhile, it gets to me and I just have to change it. Neo-classical shredding has its place in the history of metal, but I don't know if I want to relive it.
Paul Gilbert is a terrific guitarist also. He's got a pretty accurate left hand as well. And with his long fingers, he's able to do crazy stretches and runs all over the fretboard.
