So Scottie Pippen is often considered a Robin to MJ's Batman and clear 2nd fiddle who rode MJ's coat tails to a championship.
I don't think for one second that Pippen was an alpha or could ever have led his own team to a ring, and didn't when he sorta had the chance.
But here's my question. During this time how many other players could a GM Michael Jordan have traded Pippen straight up for and still win a lot of rings?
I'm thinking in his era the players that could have possibly done that for him would have been....in no oder....
Barkley Malone Ewing Tim Hardaway maybe Isiah Thomas but that is weird and hard to imagine Kinda Reggie Lewis and I don't want to talk about that Reggie Miller John Stockton Penny Hardaway Hakeem Joe Dumars Clyde Drexler Gary Payton Shawn Kemp Shaq David Robinson
But here are some guys I don't think he could have done it with Glenn Rice Mitch Richmond Chris Mullin Dino Radja Vin Baker Derrick Coleman Mark Price Larry Johnson Latrell Spreewell Kevin Johnson Antoine Walker Glenn Robinson Dikembe Mutumbo

Pippen was pretty good. The Jordan-less bulls still won 55 games in 93-94. A great defensive player. Which on your list do you think would pair best with Jordan as a defensive player? Phil Jackson would talk about "turning loose the dobermans" when he wanted Jordan and Pippen to raise their D to the highest level. I'm thinking Gary Payton.
But I think he could have won multiple championships with several of those guys.

Stacey Augmon. Similar player to Pippen, but 5 notches lower.

I think it's possible with prime Barkley MJ never tries baseball and Hakeem never gets rings. And I guess Drexler doesn't get one either.
