I understand - to a degree - the need for time to gel, my concern is we were saying the same thing last year and things did not seem to "gel" until January, which is way too long. Plus I can't help but wonder why some teams need time to "gel" while others, like SA adjusting to life post-Duncan, OKC adjusting to life post-Durant, and the Lakers adjusting to a new coach can start strong while other teams (like apparently ours) need "time." It's early for everyone yet there are teams out of the gates quickly, and by far most of our players have played together and played for Stevens.
Too early to be out of the running, but I see things that remind me of last year. Hopefully, this game serves as a wakeup call, because regardless of who is out of the lineup, a team in game 4 of a 5 game road trip, and playing back-to-back, should never have had so much more energy and effort.

Having great players on your team makes it easier. I mean, get Lebron on this team and we're going to gel real quick because that's how great Lebron is. He'll make everyone around him better.
Same with Russell Westbrook. Same with Kawhi Leonard (who also plays with Aldridge and Gasol).
I'm sure the Lakers will falter (I refuse to believe they are a legit team).
But as good as IT is, and as good as Horford is, they do not make the game easier on the level of those elite players.

I think it's too early to panic. We haven't had our entire team together yet this season. Marcus was out then he came back and Horford and Crowder went out. All 3 are big parts of the defense on this team. I Just refuse to panic until the whole team is together and has played together for awhile.

At least a poor start can wipe away any ego or entitlement we might have had with all the high expectations. Gotta go out and earn it.
I didn't like opening the season when everyone thinks we're a top 3 team in the East because I think we thrived off being an underdog or being underestimated last year. I still think we're a top 4 or 5 team (maybe 3 as well) in the East but not because our team or talent is great. In reality, it has more to do with the East not really having anyone other than the Cavs to really challenge and Brad adding Horford to an already supposedly cohesive group. We need to really find that aggressiveness and swagger we picked up late last year to play more of Brad's way and start racking up some wins. I'm sure being healthy would be a much needed help.

Yikes! How about just saying we stink and aren't playing well.

A frustrating loss. BOS got burned on the pick and roll again, and again. Another game where someone who should not (this time Mudiay) scorches BOS.
