You guys have probably heard the comments Noel made recently about Philly's crowded frontcourt. He doesn't sound optimistic and hopes management does something about it.
If they think its time to unload, and decide Nerlens is the one who needs to go, would you even want to trade for him?
Lets say, at minimum, they're asking for a young player who is good enough to earn lots of playing time (Smart Rozier, Olynyk, etc.), and throw in draft picks.
Would his lack of offense shy you away from pulling the trigger (the name of the game nowadays is versatility, being able to score and defend).

I like Nerlin's game, but I wouldn't trade a lot for him. His contract is up after this year. But if that kid could ever develop a consistant mid-range jumper he would be something else.

I want two way players and would not be willing to give up much for Noel.

I'm with Jmost that I like 2 way players, but by far, defense is the harder element for a player to learn in the NBA. We've seen a lot of players come into the league weak on offense and develop their offensive game but not a whole lot that come in weak on defense and then turn into a top defensive player.
Still, I wouldn't give up a whole lot for him without an extension in place because he is going to be a free agent next season.

Two way centers.. Hmm not many available if any.. And what would that salary hit be..
We need a defensive center.. One who won't be a offensive liability.. That can set a pick. That can get fast break baskets.. Rather have one who is gonna give me 10 points and stop 30 points.. Than one who can score 16 and gives up 24 points

It's sounding like Noel will almost certainly be traded this year. www.sbnation.com/nba/2016/12/19/14002934/nerlens-noel-philadelphia-76ers-trade-rumors-logjamIn spite of injury concerns, and his weak offensive game, he fills a need on the Celtics for rebounding and interior defense. And Philly is in a bind where everyone knows they have to make a trade. Plus, his contract is up after next season. So maybe we can get him without giving up too much? Who would you give up for him? Smart for Noel was rumored in the off-season. With Rozier coming on, is this something worth considering? Marcus has improved offensively, both in shooting and playmaking, but I still don't think he'll ever be a good shooter, and while he's ok on the pick and roll, I don't see him as a real floor general either. The next draft is loaded with PGs, some of whom can shoot. Maybe it's time to take a chance on landing a big man who fills a need.

Is BOS willing to pay big money to resign him? RFA; 1-dimensional player? note - Fairly obvious, PHI management is out of sync.

Sixers need guards - AB and Marcus are off the table, but maybe Young and Rozier could get it done.

I would insist on Jahil Okafor. None of this Noel stuff. I think Noel is gonna want a ton of money

Of the two, as I said earlier, I'd take the defensive player over an offensive player who struggles with defense. I'm also thinking that Cousins is working his way out of Sacramento. I know he can be a loose cannon but IT loves him and he is an incredible 2 way center.

Nerlens is a me first player, regardless if he is offense or defense. If has an issue w/ playing time, then he should have talked to Brown first, then Corangelo.

He has only played in 3 games this year, in addition to his past injury issues. Unless we get him super cheap, I'm not interested.
