THe truth is we need an "ENFORCER" in the line up ! All those great teams had one ! Pierce needs an enforcer on his startin unit - plain and simple ! [glow=red,2,300]Bird [/glow]had [shadow=red,left,300]DANNY[/shadow] [glow=red,2,300]Magic[/glow] had [shadow=red,left,300]COOPER[/shadow][glow=red,2,300]Dr J[/glow] had [shadow=red,left,300]MOSES[/shadow][glow=red,2,300]Isiah[/glow] had [shadow=red,left,300]LAMBIEER[/shadow] [glow=red,2,300]Jordan[/glow] had [shadow=red,left,300]Oakley/Rodman[/shadow] I think PERKS IS, IS, IS that man ! I just can't figure it out (like everybody else), why Doc just won't let him play WE NEED to have heart and get toughter Doc needs to get fire under him and then get it under HIS team !!!

Hmmm.... I agree that we do need an enforcer, but I don't agree that Perk IS that man. His face may look intimidating, but he's a teddy bear inside. But he does have the defensive abilities to be a defensive force off the bench, much like Justin Reed.

I think Perk has the make to do the job. It just might take him a little more time to get there.
Sure thing - Blount and Reaf are too soft. Blount mostly...

I thnk Perk is a better enforcer than AL J.

I thnk Perk is a better enforcer than AL J. Yes he is, by far. Perk is a guy who knocks people down and uses force and his body to move people around.

I would concur Perks could be the enforcer. However, I think Doc is holding him out, because Raef has been playing so well.

Perk is starting tonight so this is good. Thank God no Blount.

Good to see ya CF! ! !
Doc and Blount must have had words after the Atlanta game. Maxwell was saying Doc wasn't planning on playing Blount at all tonight...
But with early fouls on Perk and Jeff, will this happen?
We went smaller so far. We'll see if Reed and Gomes can handle the 4 a bit more now.

It'll be intersting to see what happens with Blount after tonight's game. Rivers showed Blount who's the boss here and if Blount continues to get out of line, he can expect more of the same. By benching the starting Center for the whole game, the rest of the team can see that Rivers is serious about who they need to listen to.

So very true DM...
Time will tell, on this matter.

To be fair there's not much point to an enforcer who sits the bench a lot due to having way too many fouls. But over time he'd probably get better at not fouling

It will be nice when Perk and Al start getting 'veteran calls' too. This would take some of the pressure off them.

Enforcers are tough to come by in today's league. They were taken out by the flagrant foul rule. Really what is needed is tough love - old school coaching. The players must recommit to defense and rebounding fundamentals which have broken down during the latest slump. The other 29 NBA teams have been working on it harder than we have.
