Danny has amassed enough draft picks to pick about any player he believes to be a game-changer. Lots of power to move up in the draft via trade(s). It will be fun to see how he manipulates the drafts the next few years. Must see TV...

Wouldn't mind seeing Justice Winslow in the backcourt with Marcus Smart (Avery can come off the bench and provide defense and some scoring punch).
Stanley Johnson probably gets taken early in the draft, and with Mario Henzojna being a hot name, Justice might get pushed down some. I'm thinking we'll pick 10th.

Clippers will lose Blake Griffin for at least 4 weeks (possibly 6) because of a staff infection in his right elbow.
This could potentially lower their conference standing and increase their draft slot, which is good for us because we will be getting it.
Wonder if Myles Turner will fall out of the lottery and into the late teens early 20's?
Wonder if the talented but troublesome Robert Upshaw is worth taking a gamble with the Clips pick?
I think we need a good shot blocker and we might be able to use the Clips pick to get one.

I'd have a hard time imagining Turner falling past the early/mid teens. And I could also see him going back to school if he isn't a high lotto pick.

I know this draft has a lot of bigs but where we pick I don't know if we will be able to get one. Okafor and Towns will be gone when we pick which then leaves us with guys like WCS, Turner, Kaminsky and probably another big or so (Upshaw, Jones, Poeltl etc). I'm not a fan of WCS I never have been. If we pick WCS with the Clippers pick then maybe I could get on board but I think we would be reaching if we pick him with our first. I haven't watched a ton of Turner but he just seems really slow to me, maybe I need to watch him more, I like Kaminsky a lot but he's not the defensive big this team is really searching for. As of now I hope the Celtics go BPA rather then reach for a Center I don't like.

With the amount of bigs in this draft, Myles could slide. His stock will rise if he stays another year, and he won't have guys like Okafor and Towns blocking his way. But he is what he is -- a solid shot blocker with a good shooting touch. He's not a low post technician and he's not a bruising big body who can eat up space in the paint. So I really don't if he'd be a top 3 pick even if he stays another year. He does have an awkward looking running style, which draws some concern. Maybe he's better off coming out this year, rather than take a chance by returning to college and injure himself.

What I do like about him is he can cover lots of ground defensively, especially when switched to guard smaller and quicker players. I don't feel he's an instinctual shot blocker, but with his length and quickness, he could probably develop into a solid defensive presence. If we draft WCS with a non lottery pick, I think he'll be good value. If we take Kaminsky, I could see him making Olynyk expendable.

[quote source="/post/118742/thread" If we take Kaminsky, I could see him making Olynyk expendable. I agree. Kaminsky is a little better fit with Sully IMO. Kaminsky and KO are comparable shooters but I would give the post game to Kaminsky, booth can be crafty scorers. IMO Kaminsky is a better defensive player than KO. I think I'm in the minority when I say I think he will be able to hold his own on defense in the NBA. I bet KO has value around the league, KO and a future first to someone would probably fetch a pretty good player. Upshaw will still be in play with the Clipps pick. I know he has his issues but he is a really special shot blocker. If we don't grab our Center of the future in this draft we could target Hassen Whiteside he will be an unrestricted FA after next season. Celtics will have cap room and it will be able to see Whiteside play a full season next year. I don't feel like the Celtics need to grab their future center in this draft. I wish we were in the position to grab one but unfortunately I don't think this will be the draft for us to do it.

Kaminsky has a better long distance stroke and is a better rebounder than Olynyk (Oly is more versatile with his offense).
As for Kaminsky's defense, it'll be average at best. Maybe Spencer Hawes' level.

I may have been underestimating WCS's shotblocking -- his blocks are cleaner than I thought they were.
He could turn out to be a Tyson Chandler like player (mostly defense, a bit of offense). In which case, if he's there at 10 (might be where we pick), he'd be a good selection.

WCS has a chance to be a really special defender at the NBA level. But he still has a ways to go before he is even at T. Chandler's offensive level, and that's not saying much. If we pick in the 6-9 range, I just can't imagine there won't be someone with higher upside available.

Kaminsky has a better long distance stroke and is a better rebounder than Olynyk (Oly is more versatile with his offense). I disagree with you about KO being more versatile. Kaminsky has a back to the basket game KO really doesn't have one yet. Kaminsky can put it on the floor or shoot from 3 and like KO can play both PF and C though IMO I believe he can hold his own defensively at the Center position, better than KO there. When it comes to WCS I feel like he's just been this hyped up prospect since he arrived at Kentucky. He's athletic and I understand he alters a lot of shots and that stats don't tell the whole story on this guy but here they are anyway SEASON TEAM MIN FGM-FGA FG% 3PM-3PA 3P% FTM-FTA FT% REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS 2014-15 UK 25.5 3.5-6.0 .584 0.0-0.0 .000 2.0-3.1 .634 6.3 0.8 1.6 1.4 2.0 1.2 8.9 2013-14 UK 23.8 2.9-4.8 .596 0.0-0.0 .000 1.1-2.2 .482 6.1 0.7 2.9 1.2 2.6 0.8 6.8 2012-13 UK 23.6 3.6-5.8 .621 0.0-0.0 .000 1.1-3.0 .372 6.2 0.9 2.1 0.8 2.4 1.7 8.3 None of those stats jump off the page to me. WCS is 21 now and will be 22 by the time the draft rolls around. At this point I think he is what he is I don't see a switch going off and him all of a sudden is going to put an offensive game together. WCS with the Clipps pick I could see but taking him with our top 10 would be a disappointment. Celtics need to get a high upside player with their top pick

I meant versatile in that he has little man skills because of his days playing on the wings.
