Ebi, Kevin McHale's one time big prospect, is no longer his pet project. The Timberwolves cut ties with this one-time, fresh out of high school kid yesterday, waiving him from their team.
He's long, athletic, and tall, and definitely a project. Came out the same year as Perkins and they both seem to need more time to develop.
He cannot be sent to the NBDL because he's in his 3rd year in the league.
We are stacked with wing players who have a lot of potential. And this may be an opportunity to throw another into the mix to see which one sticks. What he uniquely offers that differs from the rest is his height and length. At 6'9", and extra long limbed, this kid gives could give us a tall shooter to create mismatches on the floor. He could add more depth to our roster. Toward the end of last year, he some playing time, and he put up 18 and 8 against the Spurs, and 9 and 9 against the Hornets.

The problem that I see in adding him is lack of roster space, and as you mentioned we already are well stocked at the wing. Perhaps if we moved someone for a draft pick, he can be signed to take the 15th spot and develop during practice.

if they waive another player I'd be open to it. Maybe Dickau or Banks. Or if they trade away someone, and need to fill a roster spot. I just think it will take this guy like 4 or 5 years to develop like it did with Jermaine O'Neal. I'd rather win games now.
Also when Stern announced his name at the draft it was the funniest draft moment ever, and I don't even like potty humor at all

I was thinking along the lines of moving Banks, since I say his chances of coming back here after this season are very slim.

Stick a fork in Banks. As far as his Celtic days go. It just sucks to do it when he's down.
Ainge, earn that check.

It's not Danny's fault Banks hasn't lived up to expectations. 4-year college player.

I'm not really interested in bringing him in, but just wondering if Ainge would look at him because he's a tall and lanky SF who can shoot the three's.

Bringing Ebi in wouldn't be a bad idea.

Bringing Ebi in wouldn't be a bad idea. Would you cut Banks and bring in Ebi?

Not worth it, Banks could have value, Ebi has none so it seems.

We already have 3 young SF on this team that needs tuning to (Gomes, Reed, and Green). No need to add a 4th who hasn't improved at all since his rookie season.

c17 you really dislike banks, don't cha It's not that I dislike him. I just don't think he's got a good enough head for the game. Not sure that his game fits what Doc is looking for. I would love for him to prove me wrong.
