This guy belongs in Boston. Just the way he plays and the way he looks, indicate that he was born to be a Celtic.
He's got excellent numbers already for a PG (career 14 ppg, 6.6 apg) and this is only his 3rd year in the league. His only drawback at this time is his Iverson-like FG%. But he had been a good shooter at Kansas and I just know that he can shoot the ball at around a 45% clip. Just needs some time to get his shots consistent. He's got good size for a PG (6'3"), he's slick with the ball, got excellent court vision, can make difficult passes, and can score on drives and from the outside. He's one of them PG's who can play on a championship caliber team because of he has heart and determination. I view him as a notch above Delonte West and an overall better player than Dan Dickau (better defender than Dickau).
What would you guys give to get Kirk Hinrich?

Don't ask BC... We might end up the Boston Choirboys, after trading the rights to our nickname. ;D
How about, Tony Allen (local kid), Marcus Banks, our top second round pick and our 2007 first rounder (lotter protected)?
Might take more than that.

Well, I know Ainge wouldn't want to give up valuable 1st round picks, but for Hinrich, he may.

Hinrich isn't worth a first round pick + ? Ya gotta be kidding me...

Hinrich is a decent player, though over-rated. The Bulls, 1 and done last year. Kansas, how many years did they...choke.
Perhaps a first-round pick. However, I would keep the "core" players of this team intact.

Are TA and Banks core?

No, I said for Hinrich, Ainge may give up a first rounder. I don't know if we'd find a PG who could turn out better than Hinrich in the first round in the near future. Maybe OJ Mayo, but the odds of landing him are very slim.
Hinrich is not overrated, RR. He's not regarded as a top PG in the league, maybe somewhere between 7 - 13. He's a solid PG who can score, dish, and run a team. He's got intangibles that I like--he's a gamer. But his game seems to be a real good match with us.

Ainge would have to be mainlining black-tar heroin not trade a first for him. Id give Allen, Banks, and 2 1sts, one not protected.

I'd be hard pressed to give up 2 1st rounders (on top of Tony Allen and Marcus Banks)--especially with the way Ainge pulls rabbits out of his hat with these drafts.
But if most of our pieces are in place and all we really needed was a cornerstone caliber PG to complete our dynasty, I'd hope Ainge would make the decision to make that trade.

This would be a case of giving up a lot to get a lot. its not like Chicago is wanting to trade Henrich. If he is all hes cracked up to be, id be willing to do that trade. it would be a risky move, thats for sure.

"Core" players - BC listed them, and I would agree.

I remember that draft i was hoping hinrich would fall to the C's but his name started climbing up the charts. I still had hope that Ainge would make a deal to get him but the C's ended up with Banks.

Yeah, there were good PG's I was hoping we'd land, and Banks wasn't one of them. I wanted TJ Ford, Hinrich, or Ridnour before Banks. I grouped Marcus with Leandro Barbosa as PG's I'd settle for if all the other players on my list were taken (such as Sofoklis, David West, Mike Sweetney, etc.). I think Ainge was trying to hit a homerun with his very first draft and land us the most athletic PG available--which is probably why he took Banks over Luke Ridnour. In retrospect, this appears to have been a mistake.
