Seems like you're a guy who loves the underdog Fresh. I bet you also love the Devil Rays. I usually root for the team that's never won before. For example, lets say the spurs and the heat wouldve been playing in the finals. I wouldve slightly rooted for the heat. I dont have anything against the spurs, but theyve already won a couple of titles.

I'm more of a one team and their players type of fan. If its's not the Boston Celtics or a Celtic player, I hate them and want them all to fail. I'll be a Homer here and put my vote in for Al Jefferson to have a breakout season. Really? So after the Celtics get knocked out, do you watch the play-offs? I still love watching NBA basketball, even if its not the Celtics.

I'm the same way celtic17. I criticize a lot of players games who don't play for the celtics. If I criticize my own (Pierce) then you know its bad lol. I with ya John.

Yea, its the right way to be as a fan of 1 team. And on the spurs/heat final, I'd go for neither there. Even though they are the underdogs, Shaq still had 3 titles wikth the lakers. Its just a route for nobody nba final to me.

So you guys dont care who wins a game if it doesn't involve the Celtics? I usually alwys find a team to root for, especially in the Western Conference.
I finds it wierd when people watch a lot of a certain sport and dont have one team they are rooting for. I have friend who never misses a televised hockey game, but he doesnt really follow a certain NHL team.

After the Celtics are out, I'll watch some of the other playoff games but I don't give a rip which team wins. Once the Celtics are done for the year, it becomes baseball season for me.

That would be weird. So besides the 01-02, you really haven't enjoyed the basketball play-offs since the early 90's?
I'd rather watch a later round basketball play-off game not involving the Celtics than a Twins game, just because i like watching basketball much more than baseball. I could care less about a baseball game unless it involves the Twins or its a play-off game.
I also find it wierd when I meet someone my age that isn't even slightly interested by sports. I have a couple friends that I basically share a lot of interests with, escept for the fact they don't follow sports at all in the slightest. I guarentee niether of those guys would have any idea whether or not Larry Bird and Magic JOhnson were still playing. One of them didn't know the the Twin Cities had a basketball team, and he lives within three hours of the Twin CIties. Its wierd to have conversations with people that don't revolve around who the Viking's are going to draft with their 5tgh round pick.

Also on the subject of favorite teams, am the only one that doesn't become suicidal once the Celtics are eliminated from the play-offs? I did back in the day when I was a youngin and thought we had a chance to win every year, but nowadays I accept the fact that we didn't stand a chance to win it all, so it hasnt even bothered me these last few years. In fact, I wouldve rather seen them miss the play-offs at the chance to get a lotto pick.
I post this in regards to some of the guys that post on other sites that are normally pretty reasonable people, but the second the C's get eliminated, they fly off the handle. "Fire AInge, Fire Doc, Trade Red, sign the devil!" Stuff like that.

I fallow baseball more because I was dealt a baseball body. Baseball and track were my stronger suits in the past.

Not sure I would classify Butler as a 'thug' w/ Martin. Though, Butler was a thug before he did time, and went to prep school. I think his knee injury slowed him down earlier in his career.
I think AJ will have the breakout season.

I have friend who never misses a televised hockey game, but he doesnt really follow a certain NHL team. My secondary teams from the celtics are detroit and seattle. Seattle doesn't look to be going many places now though. Its a tough call with Nate Mcmillan gone. Jerome James was no loss, Antonio Daniels was sort of a loss. They didn't really gain much this offseason. Ridnour I think can make up for it though with a breakout type season. At least they have Ridnour, Flip and Ray Allen. Detroit now, Flip Saunders their coach and it was a real good choice but they won't go as far defensively at all like when Larry was there. Although Big Ben won't be changing his game just for the new situation. I think they can still come out of the east. Then again, who knows but they have literally no bench now. Their 2nd line is almost a developmental project which will weaken a teams chances to get past round 2. If anybody beats Detroit, it will probably be Indy though.

When i was junior high age, I used to pray that Id grow to be 6'10" and become the future Center for the Cs. I even thought up teammates and rivals, and imagined how good I would be (7 MVPs, 16 titles, 24 seasons). I am still waiting for the growth spurt.

I was supposed to be 7' tall when I was a baby. The doctor told my mom that as big as I was as a baby, I would grow to be near 7'. If so, I woulda made the varsity team, dominated and then maybe played college ball somewhere and even make the nba even if I was a 15th man lol.
