I am so tired of a lawnmower that won't start. I am so tired of taking it to be serviced every year. I feel like I'm renting. It's not that old.
Do any of you have electric lawnmowers or do you have maybe a push lawnmower? Any opinions here?

A couple of my neighbors have electric mowers. they don't mind them. Not quite as much power, so it's best not to let your grass get too long. But it would be nice not to have to bother with gas/oil. Ive got a couple of old junk mowers i use, but if i ever decided to spend some money on a mower, i'd look into an electric one.

I'm finding various pros and cons. My neighbor likes hers. I mostly hear good things but a few bad things too

A few things about how if it needs service you have to take it to a licensed guy. A few things about unimportant pieces coming off. Cords are cheaper but they only go like 100 feet and you gotta mow in a pattern and not go around things. Some people are warning me about needing batteries although I think you have to weigh off the batteries against gas.

exactly. the times you'd have to replace batteries would easily be covered by the money you save on gas.

I use an electric weed wacker that works wonders but that's something that is more accessible where you only need it for smaller type of work. I would not be too keen on an electric mower (i guess it depends on the amount of grass you have to cut) as the cord sounds like a hassle. Plus, even when you save on gas you still use electricity and batteries so it's not a perfect trade off although definitely a positive.

Oh yeah, I wouldn't want to goof with a cord. There are a lot of options out there that are cordless.

We have a couple acres of lawn so we have a regular tractor with a mower on it to mow. We'd go broke with extension chords trying to mow this place LOL.
