I would take Dickau over Banks . A true PG makes plays and a good one makes those around him better. Dickau can do that and I have yet to see Banks do it.

Eddie- What is a true PG, when you have a running team? We need to run...

I say we either bring in Travis Best, or get Mark Jackson on the stairmaster ASAP. He was the bomb.

Why Travis Best? Dan Dickau may be young still but he is ahead of Banks in terms of his game. If not, I would rather add Travis Best but trade Banks for Dickau if Dickau is not old enough to join Banks and West. I think West, Dickau and Best is a good 3some not naming Greene also.

Cuz Im sure travis best could be had with the vet minimum, and Dickeau wont just sign with a team to be a back-up PG, IMO. Not that im against signing dickeau if we can get him on the cheap, but Id rather have an older vet just to help the kids get their feet wet. You hear me Mark Jackson?

If Ainge goes after a veteran pg, I wouldn't expect a guy he gets is going to start for this team. So, someone along the lines of a Travis Best, Kenny Anderson, or a guy who can step up when either of our young pg go down.

Probably Kenny Anderson he'll get back.

i think that dickau would be a desperation move. west and banks have both more talent than dickau. it's just that they have different strong points in their game, especially banks who clearly isn't as talented play-maker but a very good defensive presence. i don't see much difference between dickau and west...

Even good running teams had decent PGs, C17. Cousy, Magic are prime examples of PGs on running teams.

Even good running teams had decent PGs, C17. Cousy, Magic are prime examples of PGs on running teams. I'm just saying if you have a line up full of smart players that can hold onto the ball and make the right passes, you don't need a top-of-the-line PG. Like Cousy and Magic - to take it to the extreme.

Yeah big illustration . I just hope we move the ball with passes not dribbling.

Yeah big illustration . I just hope we move the ball with passes not dribbling. You have turned the key, young Greeniac. Pass and run. Run and pass. Like Derren said, more times than not it starts with a rebound. It might be a steal or a long pass ahead of the D. It takes the team being intelligent (heads up). I think we have that type of player on the Celts now. I see no need for trade at this time. Mid-season might tell us different.

i don't see much difference between dickau and west... Well, they would have even more in common if West got shipped to 6 different teams in 3 years. I don't see that happening.
