What do you see from this young man this season? How many mins/game? Where he might be in the rotation? Stats?
I see him making the team - not NBDL. 5-10 min/game the first half of the season... 10-18 the second have. He might start some games is someone goes down, due to injury. If West and Banks are still with the team, he is #3 PG, to start the season. Stats - This season = 5.2 pts 1.5 reb 2.8 ast 1.2 stl 2.0 TO
I believe he will get good minutes by the trade deadline.
What ya say?

I am thinking he will get some playing time. Most likely in the 5-10minute range, if the PG is as status quo as it is now. I don't see the starting PG playing more than 30minutes a game.
My take, he will do more than expected.

2.7 ppg, 1.7 apg, 0.9 spg. Those numbers sound right for his rookie year.

C17 - give me the peel, and I will slam dunk it like Shaquille O'Neal.

I say he makes the team, stays with the team (instead of being placed on an NBDL team), and gets 5 minutes of playing time per game initially.
As soon as he starts grasping the offensive and defensive assignments, he'll start getting more minutes. And as soon as this happens, he should pass Banks on the PG depth chart. Delonte will start the season as the starting PG (barring Ainge pulling in a vet PG who clearly is the best option).
What the routine scenario could look like is; Delonte starts and at the first subsitution, Orien comes in and Delonte slides over to SG (like he did when he played next to Payton). When Banks' turn comes up, Orien may go to the bench, or Delonte sits and Orien slides over to SG.
I would not be surprised if Ainge signs Will Bynum to a contract for this season and put him in the NBDL. And if Marcus hasn't taken a big step forward in his development, Bynum is called up and Banks is shipped out. This is Marcus' last year of his rookie contract. If Bynum is showing progress, and I think he certainly will (he belongs in the NBA), he'll be a cheaper alternative at the backup PG spot for us. And his intense, all business-like mentality is going to help us be a tougher minded team.

I liked Bynum the few times I saw him at GT.

So did I. His short stature disuaded me at first, but I never questioned his tenacity. I saw him finish plays off of penetrations a lot, despite going up against the trees in the paint. He's quick and stalky and knows how to finish plays. He's also a pretty good scorer from the perimeter. He always has a mean game face on.
Banks better step up his game or else find himself going up against yet another PG prospect. First was Delonte, then Orien Greene, and now possibly Bynum. Ainge was impressed enough in the limited amount of minutes he had seen Bynum to give him a contract that will bring him to our preseason games.

well we don't know who's gonna prevail in our young pg battles but we can be pretty sure that they get stronger by going through that battle in the first place

Yeah, at the very least, we now have options at the PG spot. A few years ago, it was either Tony Delk or Jr Bremer.

It depends on two things I think. If we make a trade for a vet point guard. (was hoping Williams), and how he heals from that foot injury.
I say if we keep our current crop of point guards, and Greene stays healthy, I see him coming off the bench in the beginning of the season, getting limited minutes and registering some DNP's. I do see him playing 12-18 minutes/game after the all-star break, and I also agree that he will impress and do more than what people expect. I think he is like 21 or 22, not a "kid" but more of an experienced college player. We will see what happens.

I think he'll heal nicely from his foot surgery. I mean, he was playing on a bad foot all of last year and Ainge could still see the potential in this kid. If his foot was that badly injured, I don't think he could have played that much.
With his added quickness after the surgery, and with his ball handling, his height, and his pass first mentality, I think he'll be one of the more intriguing PG prospects to watch on our team. His jump shot will need to become consistent for him to really bust out of the gates--if not, he'll be having a hard time in the offense.

Not to mention this kid can jump out of the arena too. 42 inch vertical leap and he was injured?
