does anyone know at what level its protected nect year? And lets the lakers do make the play-offs next year, would we have to take it or can we wait another year and hope for a lotto pick?

They will be doing better by then. It will probably end up at 19-20.

oh, how I would love to see Mr. Jackson fail...no Jordan or Shaq this time around...can he get Kobe, Odom, and Butler on the same page? can he survive without two key positions (center and pg)?....if not, we are looking pretty good in a cpl years.

This situation is similar to the chicago situation only no Pippen. Theres kobe, mihm (longley) and no good pg. Only Phil won't have any magic like he did with MJ and Pippen or Shaq and the other good role players who they no longer have who bailed them out of past playoff series.

If we try to fit squares pegs into circle holes, I think Kobe is Jordan, Lamar Odom is Pippen, Mihm is Cartwright/Longley, Jumaine Jones is Craig Hodges/Scottie Burrel, Sasha Vujajic is BJ Armstrong, and Brian Grant is Horace Grant. They are missing their Paxson/Kerr.

nobody is michael jordan. kobe is selfish ego-maniac. odom doesn't have the drive of scottie pippen. don't care for anybody else.
2007 pick is top three protected imo

Didn't Lakers trade Butler for Kwame Brown?
I expect the Lakers to not be in lottery in 2007 especially with Phil Jackson in town. Possible be a contender if they can get Yao Ming to come to LA.

Yea right. Ming stays in Houston. It won't help much anyways even if he does go to LA. I used to think Yao could have gone to LA but I doubt it now. Sources from Houston say hes there for awhile. Let the lakers losing begin! I see their record being 41-41 this year or even lesser. Losing Butler for Kwame was a damn jip. That will wreck their chances of getting a few more wins.
