Welcome to the board! We are very international on this board, so I wouldn't worry about your English, which, BTW, is very good!

A BIG welcome Celtichp to the best Celtics board around. Your English is very good. Don't worry about any mistakes, this isn't the kind of board where those things matter. What we care about is your thoughts about the Celtics. I am looking forward to reading many posts from you!!!! Glad to have you on board. Tell us a little about yourself and how you came to follow the Celtics!

Ask the guy from Bulgaria

Never quite saw this thread, guess it's time for me to make a proper introduction... I'm only 16, so sadly i've never got to see the greats of the Celtic's franchise except when they rerun old games..Considering that i've been a Celtics fan for about 10 years now..Got into the Celtics because of Paul Pierce pretty much..He got selected in 1998 and that's when i first started to follow basketball and i got clinged onto him and the Celtics and have been a diehard fan watching every single game since..Now some personal info, i'm a honors student in advanced classes so i guess i'm somewhat smart and i have a little brother who i'm training to become a Celtic's fan already..I played basketball for my high school but i'm a little small so that's why i love Rondo now since he's a small little player playing the point tho Pierce will always be my favorite...Live about 1 hour and a half away from Boston in Springfield, Massachusetts..Been to one Celtic's game in person(twas a game agaisnt the Bobcats two years ago with Ricky Davis when they won on a game winning layup agaisnt the Bobcats!! Greatest memory ever!!)..Basketball is my main sport though i also follow Football very closely and am a diehard Cowboys fan Their star on the helmet attracted me around the same time i became a Celtic's fan and then Emmitt Smith hooked me in..Think that's enough, if your curious you can ask away!..

Well everything was good up until the Cowboys being your fav team. It's not too late to change you know, LOL! I knew there was a reason you seemed so adult and its because you are smart! It's pretty cool you live where basketball was invented! Springfield is like Mecca for me and I am sure it is for all C's fans and basketball in general. 98-99 is about the same time I first started posting on the ESPN C's board. Up until then, I only watched games on TV with friends and then we'd go play bball at the park trying to be Reggie Lewis and then later P2 etc.
Those were the days I actually had time to do all those things. That all ended in '96 after graduating from high school, getting a job, playing in a band and then in '98 meeting my future wife. It's been slowly down hill ever since, LOL! Pretty soon I wasn't playing ball anymore, got married, had to get a real job, gave up rockin out with the band in '01 and then again '03. I worked extra long hours and found my only time to enjoy C's with friends is on the net. I barely have any real life friends anymore due to work and being married. All my high school buddies I used to run ball with have also "got a life" and we've kept in touch sporadically. All my current friends are co-workers or dudes I meet at the pub.
What I am trying to say is, do not age past 16. I used to play bball 8 hours a day! I played after school winter, spring, summer, or fall. We'd shovel the snow off just the key most of the time, but sometimes all the way up to the 3 and play with gloves on!! Then I started playing for the school, but would still play pickup down the local court we called the Gully. I am 6'2, but back then I was prolly a couple inches shorter and I used to be able to dunk. I was not a great leaper, but I could throw down two hand reverses and pick off passing lanes for break away dunks. We used to have a crowd of guys waiting to play. Sometimes 20-30 guys all watching and playing and going nuts when the 2-5 people there who could dunk, would. I remember my first dunk in a school game. I played for the Jr. Varsity and I threw one down right in front of the Varsity coach and made sure I looked him the eye as I went down court because I always felt I shoulda played Varsity. There were a lot of politics at my school tho, so I knew I coulda in my heart. My career high at school was 25 points one game. I think I only averaged about 10, tho.
Now, I am still tall and athletic (6'2" 182lbs) with a little beer gut. I played in a league at my local gym in '02 and averaged 14pts, 4rebs, and 3 asts. The most points I ever scored was during this league when I went for 33 points, however, some guys were a no show, so there was only 5 of us. Everyone had to score double digits in that game. We lost in the finals outta 10 teams.
While I am not fat, I barely get to throw the round ball anymore and I can only grab the rim these days. I would give anything to go back in time. I am only 31, so I am not old either, but real life and responsibility take up my time. Now I live vicariously through the Celtics and relive my glory days in my head, LOL! I am like AL Bundy!! 5 3's in one game (25 points)!!

Many thanks everybody! I'm 17 years old, and I live in Nagykanizsa. It's a small town in Hungary. (I think you can see it in Google Earth). Hungarian is a hard language, but eja117, you wrote it perfect! I'm a Celtics fan for 4 years now. I knew that the celtics was a very weak team, but i didn't care. And now C's is one of the best teams.. My favourite player is Pierce. Can you help me how can I place an automatic message under my comment? Many thanks!

I am sooo typing Nagykanizsa into wikipedia asap.
celtichp you need to click on your profile and "modify profile" like how you got your avatar. Then there are spaces that say things like "personal message" and "signature" and you can type it in there as long as you enter your password
