I disagree. Lebron will always score high. Hes at that point in his career where he does whatever he wants and it doesnt help that refs give him 12-15 FTs a game. During our championship year series against him, he averaged 26.7 points per game and had three 30 + point games against us that series and he has only gotten better this year. Last postseason against the Magic who were a pretty darn good defensive team, he averaged 38.5 points against them and the referees have only pampered him more ever since with even more free throws. And anyway, 2 times we've faced him in the regular season this year, hes scored 38 and 36..his 38 points came against a fully healthy Boston at the start of the year by the way.
I think the best thing we can do, is not to try stop Lebron head on because stopping him these days only gets him to the FT line..hes going to score 30 regardless of what we do...So what our game plan has to be, is to force Lebron to be the only scorer and make him take tougher shots because we have more of a chance beating them when he has to be their workhorse than if he spread the ball and a multitude of his teammates gets to score like Mo Williams did with his 21 today. We can't afford to have him dishing the ball around and stretching our defense. I think we have to readjust to our current situation and realize that even with 5 healthy starters, we'll have to adapt to the age factor and play a different sort of defense..No man to man defense because we're not quick enough other than Rondo, to keep up with younger teams..It now has to be all about recognizing where your help defense is and rotating at the right moments without leaving a hole exposed for easy buckets..It also means no stupid fouls where any vital player has to sit out just because he has 3 in the first half. Smart defense has to be our primary agenda in games to come...physical defense can no longer be our sort of defense because we just don't have the age to bump with some of the younger players..all we can do is make sure we get the fundamentals right..box out and do not let the other team outrebound us because as I've pointed out before, we keep getting outrebounded and today is no difference against the Cavs.
