Very nice to see my buddies are already here. I officially parted ways with CelticsBlog today. In some ways sad but in other ways I feel good about it. I shall use and abuse my time here instead

Welcome to all of the new members. Sad that you parted ways with CB... I post there but this is my home. As for the rules here. I think the most basic rule is to respect each other. We won't always agree, but we can respect the other person's right to disagree. Of course, we all agree that we are on the way to Banner 18 this season and that Perk is a Beast.... anything else is secondary. ;D:) ;D
I'm very happy to see everyone here!

A HUGE understatement if I ever saw one. I'd say hes the strongest center in the league. Why? His strength rivals Dwight but hes shorter so his center of gravity is better than Dwights. Hes wider so his balance is better. If anything, hes like a goddamn boulder and basically the personification for the label, "An immovable object". Only thing that moves him? !!!GREENIAC!!! REFS! GODDAMN THE REFS!!! DAMN EM ALL TO HELL!!!

LOL thanks but I'm just saying what I feel is true. Perkins may not be the guy who gets 20-20 a night but the lil things he does means you can always have him as your starting center. Wonder how long till Perkins hits FA and how much we'll offer him.

Perk is the biggest bargain in the league as far as big men go right now. Hopefully the Celtics will pay him when the time comes and keep him on the Celtics. I have always said that Perk is one of the most important players on the team and it won't show in the box score. He may not get the rebound but he boxes out so that his teammate can. He might not get the basket, but his screens make it possible for his teammate to do it. And his defense just can't be quantified.

That is a good questions, FLC. Is Perk the best bargain in the league big man wise (excluding players on rookie contracts)? I can't think of anyone that compares. It's crazy that Perk makes less than the MLE. Another smooth move by Danny Ainge.

Perk is indeed the best bargain among Centers in the NBA. Not only does he enjoy doing the dirty work that many big men avoid doing nowadays (like staying in the paint, exerting energy by keeping big men out of their comfort zone, putting forth a huge effort on recovering off of switches, setting hard picks), but he also doesn't cry about playing time or touches on offense. I'm finally giving Perk his due Still not a big fan like most of you, but I do appreciate him for who he is and what he does for us.

Too funny ACF! Actually I met my hubby online. We were both in a Widow/widower support chat and he was asking about how to deal with a 9 month old baby and I was asking about what to do when my shower wall fell. We hit it off and one thing led to another and we have been married 11 wonderful years. Fortunately, he wasn't a Chippendale's dancer... he was a LT Col in the Air Force and I was no model - just a math teacher.
