One of the most dangerous shooters in recent college history. Leave him open and he will hit nothing but the bottom of the net. Excellent shooting form and consistent release. Nothing short of a professional marksmen. One of the rare sharpshooters left in the game. Everyone nowadays wants to do crossovers, do fancy dribbling into the lanes and finish with acrobatic layups. No one really practices outside shooting anymore. This guy is a deadly midrange and 3 point shooter.
No way he goes in the top 5, but there may be a chance that a team takes him in the top 10. Its highly unlikely, but as the Raptors proved last draft, any team can throw a curveball and leave GM's scratching their heads.
If he slips the lottery, there's a good chance he does shortly after that. No way he slips out of the 1st round though.
We could definitely use a sharpshooter like JJ. With the amount of times we have wide open shooters because of Pierce and Ricky driving to the hoop, its only to our advantage to have really good shooters waiting for those kickouts. Delonte can knockdown 3's, but JJ is more consistent than him. Raef can knock down 3's, but eventually, I see Raef getting less playing time, in favor of Perk and Big Al.

Based on past Duke alumni, 'just say no.' FYI - Charlie V from Toronto was a gamble, but as everyone can see, one of the best rookies this season.

West hasn't had enough game to prove his outside shot yet... Game wise, he's still a rookie. Kinda like the rest of or kids, he needs PT.

I'm a huge Duke fan and I just love JJ Redick. He has become able to score in many other ways other than just shooting this year. I have my eye on him and Shelden Williams in the upcoming draft.

He could serve well in the role that Dickau plays right now. Orien Greene is poised to become our backup PG (if he puts it all together, he can be our future starter), so Dickau is going to be tasked as our 3rd PG. When Dickau comes in, all we ask from him is to take care of the ball and try to score some points. Redick will be a better option than Dickau in this role. As college players, JJ is much more advanced than Dickau was while at Gonzaga. JJ is a dangerous scorer who does a decent job running the team (he'll act as a PG once in awhile).
I'd take JJ over Dickau any day.

Just say no to Dukies. Elton Brand has only been the only player in recent (7 years) years to be an all-star. Avery, Lagdon, Parks, Williams, Deng...underachievers. And I am not even naming all the McD's all-americans that couldn't even get drafted...Collins, Wojo, Burgess, etc.

Wait a minute--how can you say Deng is underachieving when he toasted Pierce in their win over us? Deng is turning out to be a really good player, and he's only 20 years old. I also would argue that Jay Williams is an underachiever. He really showed how good he was in his rookie season. Had it not been for the injury, he could have been a heck of a PG--possibly one of the top PG's in the game. Now, you do have a point about the other guys, but I noticed you left out Mike Dunleavy, Jr ;D

In comparison, Gordon (from UCONN) was drafted lower than Deng, and was 6th man of the year.
MD, Jr not sure about. However, I think he will be better off leaving GS.

What about Boozer? Daniel Ewing is looking real good out in Clipper-land.

Boozer? Oh, you mean the guy who hasn't played 40 straight games. I have not caught Ewing. By the way, I will add Lattner,Hurley, Abdulnaby, Carswell, Henderson to my list.

Wait, you calling Hurley a bust? How can you kick a guy when he's down? I'm watching Redick right now, and his shooting ability is second to none. Such a dangerous shooter. He's a tough competitor. I don't know--if there's a chance to draft him in the later part of the 1st round, I'd strongly think about it.

Coach K just called JJ the best shooter he has ever seen. That's one hell of an endorsement, but if we draft this kid, then I want us to get rid of someone like Tony Allen.

When evaluating a player drafted, what the player does on the court is what he "brings to the table", regardless of the "ifs, ands, or buts" in his life. You could add Williams w/ Hurley. Fair? No, but this team needs a player that can contribute.
Personally, I do not think we need another shooter (w/ the exception if Morrison is available). We need a banger inside...a low post threat, who will be a rebounding machine.

If we pick JJ I'd want to trade TA or someone like that for a banger. Maybe a Diogu or even a draft pick we could use on a banger like Josh Boone (who I think is the next Hakkim Warrick, who I think is no better than the next David West)

David West is better than Warrick (never been a fan of Hakim Warrick's). Gomes could turn out to be like David West eventually.
I'd only consider drafting JJ in only mid round situations. We aren't a shooter away from contending so drafting him high is not a priority.
